New Amex statement credits

With the Amex cash back for Hilton, has anyone tried to get the hotel to charge a deposit when you are on a cancellable rate?

My vehicle takes 180 litres and I never use BP due to the cost being on average $0.09 dearer than my local.

Looks like multiple fill ups of $40 is the go

Yep, that's what I'm planning. 4 cards x 3 uses per card spending $40 each time to ensure a 25% discount.

I haven't. Delivery seemed too difficult for where I live and I wasn't happy about spending the $10 for an esky when I probably wouldn't have used the service again.

But if you are going to use them, do't forget about stacking with cashrewards. They have a $20 cash back offer for first time users. So it would be just $20 for a $60 spend.

Aussie Farmers Direct do not appear when I search on the cashrewards website.

Does anyone know if BP sell fuel vouchers/gift cards? I probably only fill up every 3-4 weeks so haven't been to a servo (especially BP) for a while. Based on standard fill ups I'd only get 1 to 2 fills out of this deal, but if I can buy vouchers/gift cards, I could potentially have my next 12 fills discounted by $10 :D

Yes, They were very popular when Amex had the BP 6 bonus point offer going. How I miss those offers.

I had the same idea. Their website says that they do sell them at selected stores, but provides no details of which stores these may be. I visited two stores yesterday and both said that they had never heard of them.

Thanks for that. I might stop past a couple of stations on the weekend and try my luck. Will report back. :)

So, to fill up at BP when it suits me, I should get 3 x $50 gift cards. Do you think doing individual transactions in quick succession would get through?

Why not buy 2 x $20 in 3 separate transactions, after all the AMEX offer is over $40? $150 of petrol is a years supply for me.

If you search for their stations in your area, on the facilities tab it shows BP Giftcards. I don't know if this indicates stations that accept or sell Giftcards.

I ended up visiting about 4 BP servos before I found one which stocked gift cards. This was BP Coburg but the problem was the attended did not know how to split transactions.
Finally found BP Preston where they stocked GC's and the attendant knew how to split the transaction, so I bought 2x$200 gift cards with 10x$40 transactions, so essentially $400 GC for $300.
FYI they(BP Preston) also have prepaid Visa GC which carries $5.95 fee.
