New Amex statement credits

Anyone know if the statement credits will work with the Hilton restaurants? Got a stay coming up at the Brisbane Hilton and wondering if can use charges for dinnner at the Vintaged restaurant to hit the $250 mark to get the $50 credit.

The answer is probably. It depends whether they use the hotel's POS/EFTPOS system or their own. Usually hotel restaurants use the hotel system.

But to be sure - just charge the meal to your room... simple fix. (and you earn extra HH points).

Received this morning (via App) on all three direct Amex -

Langton's - spend 300 get 150 back (first 5000 cards)

Thanks for the prompt to check the app. The same offer was there for my Reserve. That's me jumping on the Vintec wine fridge deal because the $500 spend just dropped to $350 :).

Looks like I also have the Langtons offer, but wouldnt know where to start...

Just ordered a bottle of 2006 Dom Perignon and a 2011 Peter Lehmann Stonewell shiraz. Came to exactly $300.

The shiraz will make a nice present for the partner, the DP I might keep for my birthday :p

Nice buys. I'm heading straight for a Penfold's Grange; where else can you find a bottle that will have $150 off the tag price?!

Well you can use the price range to narrow down. If you want to buy a dozen that's $25 so put say $0-$30. If you want to get a siz pack cheap then you may want to consider going up to $55, that's only 3 pages of wines to browse.

I bought 9 bottles of PENFOLDS BIN 28 KALIMNA SHIRAZ in a mix of 2011/2013 vintage - total was just over $300 and it's free freight for orders over $300 so they came in at approx $17 per bottle, pretty happy with it :)

WRT the HCF offer, I have two cards signed up but I can't find anyone I know that uses HCF.

Has anyone paid the 3 x $1 to a strangers account as per the action on Ozbargain? Seems risky....

With the recent Cellarmaster's stuff up, they were offering 30% off everything, plus 15% cash back, making 45% off everything. Brought a bottle of $600 Grange down to $330. Pity they only had the 2011 vintage available.

You could have a look at their champage offerings:
https://www.langtons.com.au/search?...rerelease=false&sortTerm=Popular&sortAsc=true

Or, maybe pick up a mixed case of something:
https://www.langtons.com.au/search?...rerelease=false&sortTerm=Popular&sortAsc=true

They even have a mixed case of champagne for exactly $300:
https://www.langtons.com.au/product...angton's/iconic-champagne-collection-six-pack
Nothing amazing, but at $30/bot, I guess it's good value.

I have eyed off some of the champagne, but I'm not meant to be buying any more wine for the next few weeks :-|
