New iOS and Android Apps - Bug Reports and Suggestions

I tried the app and unfortunately uninstalled it due to the overall experience. The main menus are not full screen on a 6 plus. Is that happening on other platforms or branded phones? My fat fingers don't like the small menu tabs.

Apple does allow you to downgrade to a previous version of an app if you have a backup copy of it or can get one from someone.

The previous version of the AFF was version 3.12 and it is typically saved in your mobile applications folder under iTunes. The process for a Mac is as follows. It may differ under windows

Go into iTunes and then apps ( note not apps associated with a device but the main apps page like music etc)

Delete the new app from here

Drag and drop the old version onto this page

Close and restart iTunes

Delete new app from phone restart and re sync with iTunes

Go into the iTunes specific apps for the phone page and select install for the AFF app then sync

To the team behind the new app I'm not suggesting this as a Criticism of your hard work it's just a suggestion whilst some of the usability issues are resolved

Another annoying aspect (may have already been reported) but not only does the app drop me into a thread at some prior random point, but it seems not to remember what I have read on the main site and nor does it remember what I have marked as read in the app itself. Combined with the occasional propensity for the "Mark as read" tick to sometimes not appear until the very end of the list, this is really frustrating.

I am aware it's possible to downgrade but my backup has gone and I'm on the road for seven weeks, not carrying a PC. The new app is workable but clearly has issues.

It is very annoying to find you are re-reading posts on your laptop that you have already been through on your phone. The failure to have a master index of what posts have been read is though only annoying, unlike the "Subscribed" page often coming up blank.

I think many have reverted to the earlier version. If that feed is ever stopped then I wont be using the new app. I'm not even updating my iphone in case it breaks the old app.

Same problems with IOS 9 as a couple of months ago.
my screen randomly flickers and dumps me back to the start of the timeline - the app is almost unusable on my iPad and I hope that Admin can find a solution as this is just annoying.

I use it on Android 5.1.1 (Google Nexus 4), but only to make the occasional post. I have no real issues uploading photos and posting messages. But the fact that it does not sync with my laptop when I read threads is still a pain. I generally only do reading, and therefore most of my posting, on the laptop or my work PC.

Yes, the old app is fine on my iphone 6, the new app is awful. Have you upgraded your iphone to IOS 9 though?

I keep having the iPhone app logging me out and login me in. It is random. Ie I can use the subscribe function one time and can't use it another time.
This is linked to sometimes going to the last read post or back to earlier read posts. It seems very random to me.
All I do is use the app. Press the circle button on the iPhone to close it and then open the app later in a few hours. I do not physically log in or out of it. Just frustrating.

Yes. Old app continues to work fine under ios9
