New Lounge in CNS

This is great news... Bring it on I say.. But please make it twice dally service i.e. Morning <> Afternoon.

This is the problem with quite a few VA flight services throughout regional QLD. I often end up doing a QF/VA flight plan which it a pain, but I do get to use the QC lounge at most locations.

I have a lot of CNS flights coming up.. I do wish they would hurry up with the lounge in CNS.. They are really seem to be dragging their feet with this one..

Is September still anticipated for VA lounge?

About to book flights up to CNS for September, so am curious also...JQ and TT are significantly cheaper for when I'm looking to go (would be moreso for the CNSSYD leg that i would even consider such a horrendous option)

Flying VA to and from CNS. It'd be nice to see VA expand into rural QLD a tad more though!

Latest is the lounge will be open early December. The delay is due to the location being changed to the other side facing the Tarmac at the end of the corridor.

I'm flying out of Cairns 7th January - hope it is by open then!

Seriously VFF what is the hold up in CNS? This was announced quite some time ago now and appears like it will not happen until the end of the year.. It is getting a bit ridiculous..

QF have just upgraded their lounge in the time it has taken you guys to put out a press release..

+1.

I frequently travel to Cairns from SYD and I would choose either VA or QF (or JQ International) because of access to lounges. On return, I avoid VA by reason of lack of lounge in CNS.

Same here.
Last time I flew CNS-SYD it was with VA. The J experience only started on the plane. I just think that if VA (or any airline) is offering J to a destination, then it should be reasonably expected that there is a lounge or vouchers to be used at the airport in lieu.

I remember when the BA lounge at CDG was just a roped off area at the gate, with tea and coffee and a few soft drinks.

Next month it is SYD-CNS on VA and CNS-SYD on QF.

the tempoary door has been activated and the other side is now land side so construction seems to be under way :)

One of QF staff informed me that lounge works started last week. The lounge will look out to the apron. I would think it will be ready well before December.
