:shock::shock::shock::shock: I still haven't received my first NGCI card and you got 3

Well admittedly, the first one was for the NGCI trial at PER...

... I could liquid paper my details off and send you one of the spares...?

:shock::shock::shock::shock: I still haven't received my first NGCI card and you got 3 :?::!: I even ordered the extra ones from the QF website but still haven't received anything :(

I've not received new tags either and was a part of the trial. I wonder if it's due to my main address being in the UK now?

I've not received mine either. The particularly irritating aspect for me is that I have another frequent flyer in my house - who is silver, whereas I am gold - and they got theirs 3 months ago, while I'm still waiting for mine!

In the current edition of The Australian Way, QF says all those of us who are eligible for the new cards and tags will have them by the end of this month (February). We'll see. I will certainly be on the phone on 1 March if mine haven't arrived! Couldn't care less about the dubiously-useful RFID tags, but I do want my new card so I can use NGCI, which I haven't yet been able to do yet because I don't have the new card!

I read that too, can just imagine the hold times for the QFFSC on the 1st if they haven't all been sent out

Impossible to check in using conventional methods - that's the biggest load of BS I've read all day.

Two things:

  1. You're SG, and have access to the Premium Desk to check in.
  2. Your old QFF card, mobile or online boarding pass can be used at the self check-in units to check in & print bag tags for use at the self-serve injectors.
You're moaning because you can't use some fancy features, when everything still works even without some fancy card & hockey pucks (which maybe save a minute or two if lucky for someone who supposidly travels as frequently).

A true DYKWIA if there ever was.

I'm still not understanding this constant DYKWIA reference. It's fairly simple, Qantas lost the tags, I called them and they advised I would receive new ones within three weeks. I think it is reasonable to be frustrated when now seven weeks later, nothing has arrived and I have not heard from them.

Using conventional checkin in SYD is difficult now. I've attempted to use the service desk (which has a line a lot longer than 1-2 mins these days) and been sent away to the quick check machines, which is fine, however then in order to check a bag one has to do it themselves at the machine which does not hand out business or priority tags (which is a published benefit of the program). Given you have in the past complained that DJ did not give you priority tags for your VS Gold membership (even as a DJ Gold I do not get this), I'd have thought you would understand this concern. It would be interesting to see how DJ handle priorty luggage given it is not a published benefit of their program, it is however one of QF's and one that I am entitled to.

All in all I find your attitude offensive and I'd ask that you stop with the DYKWIA references when it's been made pretty clear it is not a case of that. It's great that you are loyal (and clearly passionate) to QF, but that doesn't reflect the experience of all of their passengers.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned (I haven't read back very far), but apparently NGCI is due to go live in Brisbane on the 12th of April, according to the friendly check-in lady I spoke to on Friday.

(those who have been there recently would have seen the construction).

My QPNB NGCI card has finally arrived.

I'm annoyed! The CSR I talked to said that QPNB would be getting bag tags as well. Certainly not the case!

lalalala

IIRC NB have to purchase the tags if they want them, only PS? and above get the tags mailed out.

Mum (a QPNB) got her card last week. She asked me about the bag tags. so I showed her mine and she decided not to bother getting any. Took one look at them and decided that they would easily get damaged and lost.

Was at MEL earlier and noticed they were polishing up the signs etc.. Must be getting ready to fire it all up..

Oh yeah, I know what the website says, which is why I asked the CSR on the phone. She insisted that QPNB still get them - that's what gets my goat.

I don't travel that often with checked luggage anyway, but it'd be nice to at least have.. I can always do with more coasters

I'm still waiting on my PS package with NGCI card and tags. I haven't asked QF for any, have just been waiting to receive them when they send them. Was able to use the Quick Check and self tagged bags in Sydney OK last month without them, but I don't think I qualify for priority bag tags?

Although, by this time next week I should have qualified for SG, so I haven't been sweating on the package. No domestic-only trips planned for the near future, so it doesn't really worry me when I get them.

I do some casual work for fun at a Perth based charter company (predominately FIFO) and am simply amazed by the number of these tags I see coming through...

Have taken a look at most of them and have found virtually no damage to any of them at this (early) stage - quite to my surprise!

They had some construction as early as December… but it has progressed a little more. I hope they’ll fix up the floor sufficiently when it goes live.

I’m thinking it’ll go one of two ways. Either The Qantas Club members will readily buy the tags and it’ll be a success, or they wont and Qantas will decide that to get the system a bit more operational they’ll have to send them out for free. It’ll take a while to judge one way or the other though.

Hopefully it’s up and running on Wednesday when I fly back to Brisbane :p

Write and complain, I know I will be if I don't get any tags.

A double whammy, QANTAS have really managed to shaft QPNB's with this change - priority domestic checkin removed AND no bag tags given.

My NGCI card arrived the other week, :p.
Would of been nice if they threw in some new bag tags, given they are removing Priorty domestic check in on us .

Had my first experience with NGCI today. Tapped my card to the pole but no green light as I’d already OLCI’d. Moved to the bag drop, tapped through the screen, presented my card, waited while my bag was weighed and the tag was located, and then it was off… got a baggage receipt, worked great!

Now to see if my bag arrives in BNE tonight.

Also, priority security was nice :)

Good to hear!

NGCI went live at MEL last night, so looks like you're one of the first AFFers to experience it at MEL T1.
