hahaha and now you will get a second set (same thing happened to me!)

My daughters Silver tags arrived in the mail last Friday, so it took a little under 2 weeks to arrive..

FINALLY got my original Gold NGCI kit - with the card having an expiry date in 2 weeks time!

Doesn't matter, as I've already requalified for Gold for the next year so my new Gold card will be on the way, but just another example of the very poor manner in which this roll-out has been handled by QF's contractor. (Remember, originally QF announced that all the original kits would be sent by the end of February this year  )

And now you can buy your Q tag at the airport. Just got my monthly email from QF and look at this:

Customers are also able to purchase Q Bag Tags through the new Q Bag Tag Vending Kiosks in the check-in halls at Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney terminals. The vending kiosks will be available in Adelaide and Canberra by mid 2011.

So who will get the first photo of the vending machine?

If they're still $50 I'm not sure how anyone could be interested. I wonder how long before they drop the price due to a lack of sales and adoption of the system...

Q Bag Tags

I think I noticed the vending machine last weekend at BNE... Wonder if the machine will take QFF points (7000 per tag), or cash only...

I've noticed around you get 2 for 1 at the moment, so effectively they are $25 each...

Well I used both tags last night coming back from PER, no issues and luggage came off pretty quickly.

The bag drop spat out a heavy bag sticker too as it was 26kg, so stuck it on and my bags were away.

Quick question, have used the Card Readers many times but this situation will be a first: traveling with MrsBD who is a NB and we're on separate PNRs. If I request QF to link the PNRs, will this then allow me to check us both in using the card scanners ... or should would I still have to use the kiosks?

Regards,

BD

The Kiosks let you check your seat allocation and make a late change if possible. I feel better at the boarding gate if I have a boarding card before I line up. If you have exit row seats it is also a way of checking in without having to turn up at a service desk (to check that you look capable of opening an exit door).

Must admit, never had cause to use the kiosks - always used the Card or Online Check-In (apart from one exit row Check-In when the Q reader refused and I asked a wandering agent who checked me in at her terminal) - so this will be interesting. I could OLCI but we'll be departing late evening so the kiosks shouldn't be too busy and I'll get to play with something new!

The kiosks allowing Exit Row Check-In surprises me ... I always thought you had to be "sighted" by a human so that they can confirm you don't have a broken leg, 25 beers inside you, etc etc.

BD

Yes, it is the one way to get a boarding pass for an exit row seat without having to be "sighted". At the kiosks you touch "yes" to declare that you are fit.
Mind you, being "sighted" at the check in desks or the desk in the QP wouldn't stop anyone drinking while in the lounge or the terminal to the point that they were no longer able.
