Don't worry, Star Alliance priority baggage isn't any more solid than QF's is.

You know - I have had great results with priority bags on AA, perfect results on NZ, and close to perfect on AC.

Maybe with NGCI across all ports and eventually automated it will improve.

...
The problem IME with AA priority baggage at places like DFW, BOS and JFK is the Priority ones come out from ¾ hour after landing, yes, before the rest ...

That's so so true.

But at least the priority aspect (relative to others' bags) works ;)

That's why I fly into LGA not JFK.not had that problem yet at DFW and the last time I flew into BOS was on QF-yes that long ago!

Here is a question for the seasoned QFF'er finally received my silver pack in the mail, Why does the new card not have my QC life member listed on the new card? Unlike the NB card which has it on the card. Not a big deal as it's on the boarding pass, just wondering is this always the case?RegardsPVC

I cannot answer your question but need to ask another question in return.

What expiry date does your 'Silver' card have on it then :?:

Are you sure it's a NB card and not a QP card, which is quite similar in colour?

QP card gets Lounge access (before a flight), PS card does not - simple!

So carry both????? As there is no benefit for silver, or just carry QP?
It depends on where you are and what you are doing. If you are flying CX, you'll carry just the PS card, for J check-in counters. The QP card wouldn't be of use. For QF, either card will do, as they can easily check your eligibility for whatever it is at that point in time. For AA, you'll want to have both cards for the benefits and lounge access. To help solve this dilemma of which card is needed, fly a little bit more and get the SG card.

I went SG 3 weeks ago approx. how long does it take for new tags to arrive?.

The last two flights on which I used the Q-tag my bag did not arrive on the same flight I was on so I removed it and have been checking in via the kiosk (I had been using the Q-tag since when I was sent it last year with no problems).

I'm travelling to Newman today and I've put the Q-tag back on my bag so fingers crossed my bag arrives on the same flight!

My wife is flying out of Newman this morning and across to Cairns Although she has my bags, I make sure she is flying with the old tags.

Less hassle and the bags arrive, as a rule, in the same place and time as we do.

Perhaps they waited until they were all in the terminal from the plane, then sorted them according to priority before putting any on the carousel:lol:
In these days of large planes isn't the concept of priority a bit outdated. Not that I want to go down the Jetstar path (ugh!) of having to collect baggage and recheck in for connecting flights, the reality is that baggage gets loaded onto planes in bin loads and of necessity it is often last on first off. Baggage from late connecting flights is likely to come off first. I would rather my baggage make my connections with me and wait a few extra minutes at the carousel.
