New Offer 30k Points or 200 status credits with CC Sign-Up

Does anyone know if you can use this offer multiple times? I should be able to hit the spend criteria by end of this month for the first card that ive been approved for. This then then gives me another month to apply for an additional card before the promo ends.
That's pushing it, but seems velocity are pushing their cc's hard lately, with these offers.

Would be very interesting if you or anybody got approved for 2 similar cards within 2 months.

I'm thinking of applying for the Westpac black one, just need to read the T&C's cos had a Westpac card last year sometime.

I cringe at the thought of flying Virgin Blue... sorry, Virgin Australia.

But this is a good marketing scheme, because I've now flown a few sectors with them in the past 1 - 2 years. If the marketing team is reading this, they can give themselves a pat on the back for a job well done, even if I still prefer QF. :p

What's the turn-around wait on VA issued credit cards before you can re-apply after cancellation? Is it twelve months like most others?

Damn....applied and approved for Amex Velocity card very recently....still awaiting for card to arrive...if I sign up.now for extra 30K Velocity pts, wonder if will also get it? Any experiences from previous offer?
So, I am in the same position as you KPC, I was just approved for The Flyer on Friday and just saw this now.
From memory last year I was in a similar position and then later received a random 30K points that I was not sure where they came from. IE, this came through just after I had applied for the Westpac card.

Hopefully this time will be the same as I could use the 200 SC just in to my new year.

I took up Virgin Flyer for this offer last year (100k points over 4 months) and it helped me to make WP.

Closed in July 2023 🤔

If I take the card out again and for some reason City deny me the 60k bonus points, would I still get the 200SC and the $129 voucher for the $64 annual fee? Because that would be worth it.

Guess it's been 6 months so may as well have a crack and see what happens 🤷‍♂️

Curious, how for the 100k velocity points over 4 months got your to WP?

Status credits required.

Its been reported on OzB that Virgin doesnt specifiy the 12months in their T&Cs, and others have recieved the bonus point after only closing their Virgin CC and only waiting 3 or 6 months before applying again for the promo.

No wonder! There I was reading and reading and reading the fine print to no avail.

I only closed mine at the end of last month. Too soon to jump back on the bandwagon, I guess. I'd feel guilty!

I got the 30k points for this latest offer on my second flyer statement earlier this week, literally the day after I selected the offer thinking I’d apply for a Westpac card this month.
I got the 30k November bonus on the first statement so turned it into a 120k card!
Tempted to chance the Westpac card anyway but doubt I’ll get the bonus twice in the same promotion window…
I’d be surprised if you don’t get the points if a qualifying card lands points in your account, even if it was opened before the promo started.

Agree. I had something similar last year with the equivalent promo where I'd opened the Virgin Money card the previous December way before the offer was announced and still got the bonus SCs.

My theory is that Velocity basically have no way of knowing when you opened the card (probably too hard from a systems + privacy perspective for that info to be shared) and they simply pay out the bonus based on a particular line item description and/or specific points total landing in your Velocity account. So as long as it is the same card promo and the bonus from the card hits after you have made your selection, you will get the bonus from Velocity.

Well, I cut my Velocity Flyer card in August last year. Just signed up again and was approved today after triggering the 30K bonus a few days ago. The bonus is not as good as last year (100K) but with the 30K + 60K bonus + only $64 annual fee first year it is still worth applying for. Surely they will add those 12-18 months gap clause on that card soon.

Westpac payment to zip pay is classified as a loan payment . Will this be a cash advance with no points earned ?

Does one need to actually receive the introductory bonus points or just meet the spend to meet conditions on this offer ?

Shame J class awards on VA have really, really dried up in recent weeks/months. Maybe it's the school holiday factor (calendar only open to mid-Jan) but it's grim 11 months out...

What routes are you looking at? I've had no trouble at all getting J class awards lately, even quite close to the date.

Apologies, should have clarified, international J with partners.

Distinct lack of awards across a lot of airlines both well in advance and closer to the current date. Seeing a bit of UA to SFO in particular (from MEL) but definitely much slimmer pickings than four, five months ago.

Most of VA's partners open up seats prior to the 330 days our where you can see them on the VA site. I'm guessing the few premium seats released are well gone by the time they open up for as VA reward seats, unfortunately. It's a real downside of VA's booking system.

I did, it was a few days later. I actually went back in and reselected the offer (was looking for the list of eligible cards) and that caused me to get another email. Might be worth doing that if you're concerned you didn't get a confirmation.
