New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

So easy to download and play with the QF toolbar, but I didn't have to enter my QF FF #, so I wonder how the system knows where to credit the 1 point per search to.
Like Qantas booked restaurants, how do they link points to accounts, Qantas booked restaurant the old way, we had to present the QF FF card when we paid for the meal, but how does it work these days?
You have to sign in on the toolbar.
In IE on the right hand side click on the red login icon, in chrome click on the grey kangaroo on the right hand side and in Firefox click on the red login button.
If you don't sign in to the toolbar the points won't be credited.

Side bar: will try the restaurant booking one day.
I use the QF toolbar on a laptop, so can't say about that.
Ok, waffle turned off on this thread.

I have used QF restaurants a couple of times now. I believe that it is a dimmi platform (unfortunately you can't use the dimmi app to create a booking with your QFF number in it though).

Can I ask how long it took for you points to come through?
I booked Qantas restaurant through Dimmi about 4 weeks ago and still yet to see points...

It's a monthly batch of points, generally around the 18th of the following month.

The longest it took for me was 6 months. Quickest was 1 month.

I've been using the toolbar for a few months. I haven't really been able to tell if QF have been marketing anything to me differently based on my searches. Does anyone know exactly what the data is actually used for?

I wouldn't have a clue but I'm sure they'll be getting very confused by my search patterns ;)

Looks like there is more than one type of Qantas tool bar.
And the first time, I got the wrong one.
1.Qantas tool bar is the one where a person wants to get from A to B, and this little line comes up with from and to cities suggestions, in a pull down menu system, and then dates.
2.Qantas serach engine toolbar, which I have now found out, is the one in question this thread is about.
Download does take a while, and I thought, oh no, another error, but gave it a few mins, and its appear in Google Chrome, next to star and the 3 horizontal boxes, above "other bookmarks".
Edit: and a physical log into your or in this case, my QF FF account is required, so thats how they give the points.
Ok off to try it now.
Ooooooooooooooooooohhh, thanks Croupier and others, I now see the light.
I think I have discovered the "it", who is edreams? If we book via that bing search, edreams comes up. Thats how they make their money, commission by QF paid to edreams as an online retailer of airline ticket sales and ergo seats.

 Please excuse me Mods, let me just say, and not edit, re: eDreams, not happy, er, insert name.
They are like Webjet, where they charge a booking fee.
And you wouldn't know it, till its too late!
Reviews about them on TripAdvisor are also not too flash.

Wow - bold, italics and underline. We have a winner!

Who is that silly to use the toolbar for anything other than collecting a few points.

Its greatest advantage is for those who do not collect points often to beat the 18 month rule.

I gave up months ago. All i ever get is the cough msg of points refused.

I would have been so much happier if the flight search engine in the QF web search tool bar was QF instead of eDreams.

I do agree with you totally on that 1

even actual searches of holiday trips for the future, or words not used.

After you have logged in and completed your first search a list of related searches appears on the RHS.
I just click on these as each one will give you 1 point. It doesn't matter what they are and I can complete the 150 points in only a few minutes
