New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

I have the toolbar loaded onto my laptop and every now and then I pull it out and search for a few months, then the laptop goes away again. I search for four family members so eventually the 150 points will add up to a tidy little sum. I haven't seen any different marketing to me, I do have a search pattern to quicken up my searches. But I'll also admit to some searches directed at Qantas that I'd like them to look at such as Sydney to Townsville direct flights on QF metal (this one gets a good deal of searching) and I search all of the baby stores numerous times. I'm hopeful (but also realistic!) that one day QF will get into bed with one of them allowing me to earn extra points when shopping.

I will admit that I have searched for a few things like "QF international flights to ADL", "cheap flights to CBR", "qantas points with vodafone" and various other things I would like to see. Probably won't many any difference to anything, but I have to search for something on my quest for points - might as well let QF know what I think while they are collecting data about my search activity.

But I seriously haven't noticed any change in the way QF markets to me based on the search toolbar. Which begs the question: what are they actually doing with all that data they're collecting??

I'm having problems with the points counter. I have managed to get the counter saying I have earned 11pts for the month and then it froze and wouldn't count any further searches.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and now it won't count any searches at all. Again, reinstalled and nothing...

Anyone else had this problem or any idea's what to do?

Thanks.

Thanks mate, I have done that and still to NO avail. With people still waiting for points, looks like more trouble than it's worth...

Generally points post within the first 10 days of the following month. This does seem to be late compared to normal.

If you use a search engine it's not really that hard for a small number of points per month.

I can't work out why, because it keeps coming up as invalid search. Well, I have tried all different searches and still the same response.

I might have to uninstall, run a new anti virus scan and reinstall..... again

Please keep us updated, I'm sick of it and quit using it.

I had it installed for a few months a while ago. I never got any points and actually found it a nuisance to use.
I uninstalled it and never bothered again.

I have a similar problem. The first day I used it everything went fine got all 6 searches in. Next day got invalid search for everything. Nothing had changed didn't install anything new. Used a different computer same problem. Waited a few days still nothing so gave up and uninstalled

The Qantas toolbar worked fine for searching in Avant Browser (which I have set to use the Firefox rendering engine). I did have the problem that it kept logging out of my FF member number, but that may be an issue with the dodgy ADSL2 connection I have here which has lots of micro-breaks.

The other issue is the location of the Logon button - which is right above where other sites have their logon buttons, and I'd be accidentally clicking the wrong button on occasion.
Regards,
Renato

Points haven't come through yet but this isn't the first time points have been delayed, I'm sure they'll appear in the next week or two
