New Qantas Toolbar - Earn Bonus Points just for searching

I presume you weren't clicking on any of the results. That's what happened for me. A few new searches, clicking on a result. Then doing another search and clicking on any of the results. I think was back earning points after doing this 3 or 4 times.
That's how the tool bar provider makes their $$$ - it all starts with click throughs ...

True, but I only needed to do it a few times and then I was able to just continuously search again without clicking on the results. When I got the error and had to view a page, I just searched for something I was genuinely interested in!

Total waste of time IMHO for what you get

Bit more complex than that... Some adverts etc are pay per view, others are pay per click and others are pay for action (is doing something after clicking the link).

Cant see where anyone else has asked this question. How do you delete the previous searches?

Still think it is a waste of time after the initial bonus points and it will be a "fizzer"

Not much good for earning points, but by far the simplest way to keep the infrequent flying relatives points from expiring. No need to use the EDR card and waste points - a simple search, earn a point, and the last activity date updates.

My actual search points (not just the bonus) have now posted as well.

That makes it sound like you think they introduced it for the benefit of their frequent flyers rather than themselves ;)

shucks....you don't mean that do you...??? surely not...? would they ...? I thought they just liked to give points away to us nice AFF's.

it is just too hard for too few points IMHO

I just had my June searches points posted to my account. At least it posts a bit more reliably than the Jetstar flights.

Most of my family have been disbarred despite legitimate searches but the final straw for was when a website would not connect and Yahoo tried to step in...

That just showed me the toolbar was a load of cough just monitoring on all my net behaviour despite not being logged in! F U QF and F U Yahoo!

Why do I think of the scene in The Wizard of OZ and the curtain being pulled back and the wizard being revealed ?

oh, I have my account and 1 daughters working, with 1 account totally $@%@#%$An email to them was not worth the time.
They can not understand the account is not working and that the exact same search in a working account is fine.
