Had 32J on QF9. I'm 6ft but had no problem stretching my legs out almost fully horizontally (with a bit of stretching back). Def my first pick in A380Y, should be even better with a Plat shadow.

I'm probably more inclined towards row 11 because row 13 ("The Sapphire Shed") is a little closer to the galley and a little noisier.

Others are of similar view.

Apparently, behind row 13 is the crew locker so some noise - in addition to the galley - may be expected.

All things equal, any E.C. seat is still better than the 'general' J seats bearing in mind that there is no such thing as a 'bad' J seat.

This is good to know as I am 6'4", but I am still reluctant at selecting Y seat on the upper floor until all A380 have been refurbished.

if I had to take row 11 I would go for a window seat as the aisle seats get the curtain flapping against them from crew and pax moving towards the self serve and lounge area.

Avoid 11K as that has an electrical outlet for medical needs.

Last week on boarding, I was moved from my preferred 12E to 13B as it was "inoperative". (on a full flight I watched closely, certainly 12E had a shadow for the entire flight)

CL or P1 bumped you?

Awesome to hear. Just booked 32 J and K upper deck on A380 to and from Hong Kong in July. Even happier with that choice now!! :-)

Oooops, actually have exit row in 35 j and k - upper deck - anyone have review on these?

Doubt it - a UA flight had been cancelled and loadings from West Coast USA to OZ that evening were basically Zero.

No-one sat in 12E (I can assure you I kept a close eye on that ...)

Great info. I have a booking MEL-LHR and LHR-MEL. Travelling solo. I'm 6'3" tall. I have reserved 80K there and back. But can move to 32AB, JK.

As a tall solo traveller, is 32AB, JK going to be better than 80AK? Opinions? I suspect not but 32AB, JK would be great for couples?

Excellent seats. Loads of legroom, but you do need to get on board early if you want any OH locker space. (Very small lockers over these seats, and a general shortage in the mini cabin.

80A/K is better IMO if legroom is a priority. I personally find the legroom at row 32 to be just enough, so I pick 32B/J for the mini-cabin feel and quicker exit. I think at 6'3", the legroom at row 32 might be a problem - I had <2cm to spare from my feet to the bulkhead when I did my occasional stretch out into a L-position (with my back/behind pressed way back into the seat). If travelling as couple it's 32AB JK all the way. Or pay the extra $ 35JK, which are even better.

Also, on my flight the crew closed the gate to the stairs going downstairs, so we had only 1 toilet between upper deck Y & the occasional overflow from Y+. It also meant we had no access to the snack bar (but offset somewhat by great crew who were happy to serve whatever that is there). Has anyone else experienced this?

you can just open the gate and go downstairs, nobody is going to stop you (well they haven't stopped me yet :D)

Admittedly I do this too. But why would you go down into the real land of the great unwashed?
