I thought this comment on the pprune thread interesting

Totally consistent with the history of decision making by this lot as there are only two options:

1.Make a decision, spend and then oops, change it.

2 Deciding and then not delivering anything.

No wonder the place is in chaos.

Reads like a description of Air NZ management in recent years ...

would welcome reconfiguration. The 'new' A380 is awful: 5A too noisy, not enough loos in J or F or any other class for that matter. Would not choose to fly on this beast

Pedantry, I realise, but there are 2 toilets in F for 14 pax - that's not enough? (That was the only pax : toilet ratio that did not change in the reconfig).

Another member on this site referred to pprune as "the x-files of aviation" which I think is pretty accurate. The axes some people on that site are grinding are so big I doubt they can lift them to swing them!

So I'd like to believe this story but at the moment I'm going to assume it's "too good to be true."

And here I have been flying under the radar hoping my old config QF11 on the 10th of Feb was
going to stay as is.... and at 9pm last night it changed :-(

(Yes, sad to say I checked it at 8.30pm and it was still just J & Y+ upstairs, not anymore)

That is 8 less seats in my Y+ to J upgrade lottery... lol

Might have something to do with today's inbound QF94 operating today's outbound QF93 instead of QF9 as per normal cycle throwing everything out of whack further down the trail.

Our QF11 on March 31 has changed to the old configuration. Our nice seats upstairs in Y, carefully selected after endless examination of this thread, have disappeared. Sniff. Now locked out of seat selection on the Q web site. Complicated by the fact that SWMBO is on same flight on different booking and is only silver.

They have plenty of time to change back. I'd be watching closely as the changes may occur fairly regularly

Thanks :)
I was wondering about that. And without going back through all the posts in this thread: has anyone else experienced multiple A380 changes?

My July flight has gone from New to Old then back to New

24A > 35A > 24A

(that was over a 3 week period)

Was your 24A on the third bird automatically allocated or did you have to choose it again? That is, did they remember your original seat choice?

I had that issue. They happily allocated seats on the phone.

Any update on reconfiguration, or halt thereof?

Call Qantas - they can link your PNRs so you can seat select for both of you. I've done it many times before.
