New to FF - First with CX and then QF Y flights - Where to credit?

This may be relevant here. I don't have any status with QFF or Alaskan but have a couple of F flights coming up with CX and then Y flights with QFF later in the year.

I also don't have status with AA but, I'm about halfway to a million miles and have about 300K miles with them.

Any ideas on who I should be crediting to? I'll be travelling quite a bit over the next 18 months so I don't want to mess this up.

If it's about points, credit to the program that will allow you to redeem flights you might want - Australian region or US region targets but of course both programs will allow you to redeem on One World.

If you are doing enough premium travelling on OneWorld Airlines, you should carefully calculate what status you might earn on ANY OneWorld program and credit to that one of you can make it somewhere worthwhile. I don't know across the Alliance ... Maybe @Mattg might comment which gives worthwhile status the easiest.

Some will give status more easily than others.

Crediting to the CX F flights to AS is a very good move if will be flying with their partners as part of your extensive travel.

Good question. I wouldn't mind making a run at QFF Gold but I believe the points earn will be paltry for DAD-HKG-JFK-HKG-DAD. From what I can tell, the best points earn would be Alaskan.

I agree that the best option for redeemable points is Alaskan!

These trips would also get you close to status with BA or QF though if that's what you wanted to aim for.

Do you happen to have any flights coming up on British Airways? That trip in F would earn you 600 tier points with BA Executive Club, which is enough to get BA Silver (equivalent to Qantas Gold). You'd just need to fly 4 BA segments as well. If the DAD-HKG sectors book into J (I'm not sure if CX operates F on that route?) you'd earn 560 tier points, which is only 40 short of Silver.

With Qantas you'd earn the same number of status credits (600), assuming the HKG-DAD part is in F, although to get Gold you'd need 700 status credits and 4 QF sectors. Still, would also be doable if you're also doing a bit of QF flying in the near future.

No F on DAD-HKG that I’m aware of.
Have done that route a number of times and they are on KA with a mixture of A320’s and A321’s. The A320’s are Y only whilst the A321’s are a 2 class configuration
