New Velocity Cards

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I received my Platinum pack today, complete with new card design and metal bag tags (finally something that will last). Very swish.

And good to see the Virgin Australia logo!

I would assume this is a velocity brand wide roll out, judging from the changes. Looking forward to seeing the other cards.

Atleast GOLD will fit on one line.

Oh looks nice! Is the bag tag somewhat flexible? I've had mine snap a few times having it attached to my check in.

It's made of metal now, so don't imagine much of a chance of breaking.

Now that's what I was missing. I renewed my status for another year and received only the card. Called the next day and requested for a bag tag to see any different. Thanks for sharing and shall wait patiently for my new tags. Reported the new card on the other Velocity thread.

Awesome, my plastic bag tags seem to always snap off in transit.

Finally, Virgin's frequent flyer card actually features the name of the airline!

Hopefully this means I'll no longer have to explain to staff at partner airlines that Velocity is somehow related to Virgin Australia.

Am impressed with the new design too and that they're metal.

Not sure what happened but I've ended up with 5 tags and 2 cards! I contacted them as my pack did not arrive on moving to Platinum so they re-sent it - dated 13/12. On the same day I received another 4 envelopes - with 3 tags (1 dated 13/12 and the others 28/10) and another card (dated 28/10).

Not complaining as the duplicates will come in handy and mean I don't have to move them between bags.

Mr Jurahn requalifed for SG and received his new card at the end of October. He's got the Global Wallet version (goodness knows why, he's never even activated it, I keep telling him he should opt out and go back to the normal card LOL) - the Global Wallet side looks like the background has been "churched up" a bit, but the other side of the card is very plain with just some text and the Velocity logo, nothing at all like the new design in the OP's post and still doesn't have VA's name ANYWHERE on the card at all.

I plan to call in the morning, one of my tags were broken on my last trip.

Yes just call and ask for new ones. I just did so and it was no problem. BTW, they don't normally send out new ones when you requalify - I have not received any since first reaching Platinum 3 years ago.

Cheers for that - just rang as well, no dramas. Im assuming they will be the new design that they send out...fingers crossed!
