Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

New release from Cape Mentelle. Nice but nothing special, maybe in a few years.

Sorry to join late... but what's this picture of a book in your post?????? :o:eek:
Surely that does not count! RealTMA please realise that previous posts of food/animals did show food "less cooked" but at least it was there!
I need to trust what I see on the internet.. Otherwise.. what's next... is that really Chardonnay in your glass??? ;)
If (and only if) that really is what you had for dinner then it looks very nice...
P.S. I don't think it takes a few years to prepare "tea smoked salmon" :p
P.P.S Thank-you for providing me an opportunity to fantasise about savouring such a fantastic looking wine/ food combo :)

Opened the last of the DM secret pinot last night (Essenze).. Took everyone's advice and drank champagne while waiting for it to breathe.. Very good :)

Ok, UpInTheAir one for you, Bru!

Tomorrow's ragù bolognese for dinner during the innings change. (No underarm please.) Katoomba 2009 Petit Verdot (nice purple colour still very drinkable) in the ragù and the Hunter Valley St Hubert's for tonight's sausages and mash.

St Hubert's is a nice quaffer. (HVWS dozen?) Nicely integrated fruit, spice (or is that from tasting the ragù) with pleasant softer style palate, drinkable depth.

This is the 2nd last bottle remaining from my purchases 14 months ago when my local Dan Murphys had an unexplainable clearance sale of certain items.

The last bottle remaining is actually the Peter Lehmann Mentor Cabernet 2010 that came with the decanter in the photo both for $25.

Yarra Valley :p I have a bottle stashed away for a rainy day, being quite partial to a bit of merlot.

Ok.. You've convinced me... Your place for dinner! :) :) :)

Better than a merlot?

I repeated the classic quote (suitably - I thought - edited for spelling of the naughty word) upthread but a Mod removed my post. But I (we?) know what you mean. That movie is getting a bit old now so the quote may be passing into history - but it's still a classic - and blamed for cruelling the market for Merlot in LOTFAP for many years.

I actually thought Blacky was horizontal, not sideways...;).
