Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

My picks from Epiqure Sips and Sliders:...

I wanted to come to that, but am glad I didn't book tickets. (work got in the way).

How is one meant to be a wine lover AND hold down a job these days?

Great post TheRealTMA

Small world - Andrew and Michelle (aka Misha) (the couple beyond Misha's) are very good friends of one of my colleagues. Some of their wines make appearances at our BBQs.

Misha's is on the list for my next visit to Central Otago, and hopefully I can arrange an introduction.

We've had a number of trips to CO and the wineries. Fabulous area with great wines and winery restaurants. I suggest it's worth booking tastings at some of the smaller wineries such as Mount Edward and especially Pisa Range and worth joining Gibbston Valley wine club for free tastings, tour and discounts on wines and restaurant if you go. One should probably avoid Queenstown during adventure-wally and ski-junkie times but outside that it's excellent.

There's usually a Pinot Festival in CO each year - 2015 Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration - Queenstown New Zealand

We should organize an AFF Pinotphiles trip next January perhaps? I've been trying to attend for a number of years but MrsTheRealTMA goes back is back to work top earn shoe-money around then and my other friends can't be motivated to actually go.

A few of us here would likely be interested in that one...

You didn't miss much to be honest. The quantity of feed provided was insufficient so essentially we paid to be advertised to. Don't know why they asked for dietary requirements as they didn't cater for them...

Sorry it's a casualty of being a Beta tester of the new App. I have reported it.
The wine is a 2013 Simonnet-Febvre Chablis

I thought it was Chablis but when you referred to Sav Blanc, I thought maybe my eyes were deceiving me and it was a name spelt like Chablis. To be called Chablis, it can't be Sav Blanc - it's Chardonnay, generally unoaked.

2 different Pinots today with roast pork done on the barby.
Both quite different. Enjoyed the Riposte more than the De Bortoli, the Riposte being a softer, smoother style.
