Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

"Time for a glass of red".

Pretty close there JessicaTam, I was thinking "Time for a glass of red, Buzz"

The etching on the glass - yes :D

The glass was given to me by some friends (Gravel and Crash) who asked the owner of Buzz Bistro, Tennyson Qld. if they could have one of their glasses for me.
It was given to me at the Bistro in front of the staff and it made me quite emotional.

Continuing this thread's (and certainly my) bias towards Rockfords ...

I gave this bottle to a good friend for Christmas a few years ago. She turned up yesterday to welcome me back home from a trip away with a very special present! :) (1992 Cab Sav in case the label is a bit hard to read)

The cork was good, but to be honest, the wine was a bit past it; the fault is probably mine, not the wine's. It has moved house about 4 times and hasn't been cellared in ideal conditions except for about 8 years when I had it and its friends in a commercial wine storage place in Sydney.

Kay Brothers "The Cuthbert" 2008 Cab Sav. Very tasty drop, can't remember buying or receiving it but pleased I did.

Similarly, my sticky wine fridge has a large proportion of dessert wine (both 375ml and 750ml) and almost exclusively Noble One. Think my oldest is 1996 or 1997. Must find somebody with whom to drink them - any takers ;) :D

*wink wink* although as much as i love stickies, i do dedicate a portion of my love to good pinots, gris and noirs. I love the Mt Difficulty ones, very earthy and floral!

I took a 1998 to an event earlier this year and was quite disappointed. Maybe yours are kept under more optimal conditions but based on my experience I would be partaking of the fruit rather quickly. You could always drink them in August, I know quite a few AFFers that would be willing takers ;) :p

On my way...

True, they travel better than Reds. Would they be worthy of Sat night dinner ??

Was this part of a paid wine tasting? How was it? It's been a while since I've had Harry's monster!

Love that place, the pizza there is awesome!

Me too! Everything they do is very good - wine, bread, meals! I understand they do good pizza and coffee too!

It's actually on their drinks menu for $20 3x60ml glasses (new sometime in the last 2 months).
