Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

We had the 09 Bin 28 with BBQ Chicken last night. Although you could taste the berries it is not a big wine but very smooth. I don't think it will improve much and should last for a few years yet.
We like a nice Bin 28 we do with a few years on it. 2011's are drinking well as well.

Dark mof_ is on in Hobart, just downing this Yering Station Pinot 2010 while watching the day turn into night :) Oh yeah, the wine is a decent drop.

Lunch today was with my M-i-L. Love it when she comes over as she knows how to perfectly cook Yorkshire Puddings as my wife decided to do a slow cooker roast beef.

Pity it was overcooked (to my liking) but the YP's and gravy with roast Veggies and some decent red wine - complete and utter bliss

My wife and M-i-L both loved the Evans & Tate but I got stuck into the Hardy's Tintara. The glass with lunch was closed but going to have another tonight after some decanting

Sunday Pinot night. Nice somewhat underrated NZ winery just up the road from Mt Dufflekty and Felton road. One of their 'standard Pinots', these are excellent drinking at this low age. Good forrest floor nose, soft long spicy tannins, slightly sweet but not overly so. Rating: yum.

I've enjoyed a 2009 St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz tonight. Very nice. Cherry flavours. Went well in my "cellar".

On the subject of Yorkshire puddings, the Yorkshireman down the road swears by the frozen ones from Woolies.

Cleaning up the debris from the last long weekend with great friends visiting.

Some very nice local sav blancs:

Then I presented a tribute to Buzz's last Titanic Tour of the Barossa:

(The Monkey Nut sparking merlot wasn't greatly appreciated by the others but I still like it).

And finally the after dinner selection. The port from my expedition to Oporto a year or so ago. The Pedro X from Turkey Flat, again on Buzz's tour. It was a big hit! Christmas cake in a glass. I'm re-ordering .

( such was the demand for the Pedro X, I didn't get a chance to bring out the Rockford Cane Cut Semillon!)

Safely home from Tasmania and just able to waddle through the front door! What a great state to visit. Hadn't been there in 30 years (folks lived in Launceston for a few of my Uni years) and wholeheartedly recommend a visit. Thanks to everyone who gave me so many travel/restaurant tips. MONA was a standout and the degustation at The Source was truly memorable.

The Vouvray was just a pup and can apparently be cellared for 50 years!:!:

The Vintrepeneur club had some special offers on Wynns, not a brand we drink regularly. Used to years ago but with various changes in wines and price increases, we moved on, so I though I'd give their mixed 6-packs a try.

This one I've not tried before - my loss. This is excellent. Lovely fruit, luscious, long finish, drinking very well.

The Torbreck was youthful from the magnum. As we dined as a couple we were served 2 different desserts and 2 stellar accompanying wines:D.
