Helm Cab Sav 2009 from Cellar door near Canberra. Amazing cool climate cab sav - still packs a punch. Bargain for $30 IMHO.

I'm a big fan of Helm wines. The winery is in Murrambateman and Ken Helm is a fantastic bloke. Well worth a visit and around the corner from Tim Kirk's Clonakilla.

They don't just do regular tastings but also give a lot of relevant information. Their Riesling is also very good!
Off course can't do a winery tour in that area without paying a visit to Clonakilla. Only problem it's going to be an expensive visit

Wolf Blass Limited Edition Cab Sav 2011 matched with Rib Eye steak tonight.
Although 2011 wasn't a good year for the Barossa IIRC, I really enjoyed this drop after proper decanting.

Ah now that's difficult. And it's looking like Saturday or Sunday now. I've been told that 'cultural' events have been planned for Friday so it's either galleries, Botanic gardens or visit to Clive in the house.

Have lunches at Grazing and Lark Hill on the w/e so have to work out a round trip to take this into consideration plus Helm, Clonakilla and Shaw and some others.

Have been to quite a few in the area but not Helm before so the advice above was useful.
