Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I missed putting these up that I tasted at Penfolds 2 weeks ago (I was fortunate to get two tastes as my wife got her glass but gave to me):

This are the bottles I wished that I could say I've tasted:

Eeek:

Some 90 people have been injured overnight after a 6.0 earthquake – the strongest to hit California in 25 years – caused destruction in the State’s scenic Napa Valley wine region. A state of emergency was declared, prompting residents’ to fear an impending ‘big one’ to hit the US western coast.

Hope no Napa Valley wineries lost their bottles...imagine the consternation :o

I had a bottle of this on Saturday night. Very nice.

More than acceptable now. It is a smooth balanced Shiraz, but has some guts. It was good now, but I can certainly see that it would benefit from a few years and some decanting. It's a screwcap so easy to store.

I didn't realise it was a QF wine actually, but perhaps somewhere in the preceding hours I missed the moment when my host told me that this was actually a QF "comp" for something. I wish QANTAS would "comp" me something rather than charging me $80 for it :p :p

This came from our epiQure premium inflight mixed pack (great value IMHO)
Was an absolute belter (sorry lost my wine words today  )
Wish I had ordered more :(

Nice. How much was it?

I have long enjoyed Paringa Estate Pinots.

Perhaps the next Victorian wine tour should be to the Mornington Peninsula and Red Hill? :p

This is a 2001 McLaren Vale Shiraz. Each year I get 6 assorted bottles that have been entered in a Victorian Shiraz challenge. No idea what I will get but the quality is good.Enjoying this though it is probably just past it's best.

I've got some of that still in my cellar, I think it depends on the bottle, some (most actually) are great, but a few I think are a bit past it. Big fan of Joseph wines though!

Having been under the weather with swine flu over my birthday, I've finally felt well enough to go out and celebrate

Had a Frogmore Creek (Tas) 2012 Chardonnay yesterday. Not quite as long a finish as the 2006 Atticus, but if you like that you'll like this. (Don't know where its available though).

Finally made it to Helm. Very interesting Rieslings and as well as 2008/10 CS, Ken had a wonderful 2006 CS on special release.

Also got some of these from Fyshwick markets to being home.
