Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Had this amazing Rack Dried Cabernet from Ocean View Estates (Queensland Winery). Not sure where it is available other than the winery itself (Ocean View, on the way to Mt Mee from Brisbane). Well worth the trip - and the restaurant there is amazing too. We were there to attend a wedding recently.

I was dubious about this bottle, picked it up off Langton's for ~$30 and I've had some bad experiences with Ironstone Pressings. In addition the week before I had the 2012 Coppermine Road which was diabolically bad - maybe tainted.

Well, I couldn't have been more wrong, this is a cracking drop, primary fruit (mostly berries) still strong, light pepper, noticeable tannic structure but in a good way, great length on the palate. Still tastes young at 6 years, IMO this will outlive Methuselah.

Bonus pic, a ~20 year old Minchinbury rescued from my Great-Oma's cupboard that I used to demonstrate to some friends how bottles can degrade over time. Very indicative :)

Surprised the 2012 has a cork closure?

Arrived today and although I have not yet consumed, I am very much looking forward to the night this gets a run.....

Nice one! I tucked into my first Standish Wine Co (a '16 Schubert Theorem) a couple of weekends ago with a few mates. I was worried I was cracking it far too young & it would underwhelm - after throwing it in the decanter for a couple hours those concerns were quickly proved false - it was absolutely magnificent. I'm still daydreaming about those tannins. Ridiculously good wine. I can't wait to get stuck into a Lamella & Standish, though by all accounts they're not ones to be cracking this decade.

On a sadder note, I had a '15 Schubert, '15 Lamella & '16 Lamella due to rock up early this week. All 3 bottles smashed in transit. They were insured & fortunately the retailer still had replacement stock - the thought of wine of that calibre licking the asphalt was tough to stomach though.
