389 for $110 - gotta love that - and love that they did - I was with 3 Chinese guys - the only label they know from Australia is Penfolds - and apparently 'Daddy' buys Grange by the pallet load - so to all you guys out there complaining about Penfolds pricing might I suggest this is major reason for upward pressure.

I'm not really buying riesling these days, as opposed to chardonnay, but couldn't go past this in one of my locals, Purvis, at just $14.99 for the latest vintage of my favourite 2017 riesling - it's the first 2018 that I've tried and seemed as delicious as the previous.

The Nocturne was actually the reason for visiting there - it reminded me of my other favourite chardonnay at the moment besides the Stonier Reserve 2013, Cape Mentelle 2014, enjoyed it at least as much as the Pierro 2015, better than the Deep Woods Reserve 2016 produced by the same winemaker.

The last domino.the previous bottle was very good 3-4 years ago so i rolled the dice and kept this one until tonight.27 years on and really good, maybe a few months past it's very best but I'm not complaining.

Slightly OT Was the pizza good - I looked at that restaurant last night and realised I hadn't been there. Do you know if Rundle St is blocked off every night with dining in the middle or just weekends?

Pizza was delish . We had olives , prosciutto, stuffed eggplant to start and then the Four pizzas. 6 people and it was $200 all up including corkage. Street was closed off and everyone eating out there. We were inside

Due to a mishap at the restaurant last night, the manager was required to dispose of a couple of white wines. Fortunately we were chatting to him at the time and were afforded a (rather generous) taste of each. I am afraid that I am not sufficiently versed to provide an accurate description - suffice to say they were amazing.

I had the nosebag on tonight at Char in DRW on the final night of my Kimberley in the Wet tour.

As soon as I saw this on the list, the choice was made. It’s the only Assyrtiko made in Australia. I had read about it but this was the first time I had encountered it on a wine list. As one might expect, not up to the benchmark Sigalis and the fond memories I have of slurping on its home of Santorini, but nevertheless a very clean rendition.
