From last night,
The sorrenberg is really getting me to drink whites more often, this is fresh juicy clean fruit , great fragrances but not too strong, hint of sweetness ,green melons, flavour is so rich and smooth, none of that grassy herby kind of thing in this wine, worth cellaring for.
Dr edge south 2019, another bargain, this is intense , not as easy going as the sorrenberg, less oak and less time in oak, pineapple on the nose, toasty nutty flavour , it’s dry ,might be the tannins ,needs more time to open up than the sorrenberg.
Tyrrell’s SFOV 2011,this is the one planted in 1968 not 1908,this is buttery ,nutty ,a bit spicy still showing the acidity ,a good smooth finish.
Vat 47 09 tasted quite similar to the sfov,I think the sfov might have been in oak longer, but this is still creamy, I can’t really describe the difference here.
