Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Melbourne has been very warm lately, but you just have to get any opportunity to knock a red off. Last week a great grenache, can't remember the name, but tonight an old Vinimofo fave from a while ago, Maverick Twins 2013 GSM. Just a lovely full flavoured wine, great colour, nothing out of balance perhaps a bit of alc heat to interrupt things, effortless enjoyment with mild tannins on the way out to remind you how good this wine is. I found it in the indoor stash and I dont think I have any left but as a homage to how brilliant the Fo was, this wine gets a classy 8 out of ten.

I saw this on sale at Qantas, but I was concerned it wasn’t the same wine as won the trophies (it won the Jimmy Watson and the Trevor Mast). Fallen Giants takes a giant leap

I thought maybe the Qantas wine was a Shiraz from a different vineyard as the label looked slightly different to the trophy winning wine. Was I wrong?

I remember getting a case of this exact vintage through DM under wraps few years ago. Now available on QF Wine as part of their First Entertainers pack.

It's the right one :). They did have a different "black range" shiraz as well that was also sold on Qantas.

I don't drink whites and especially not Chardonnay as I don't like melon flavours. I got this pack though. Is it worth trying or should I pass?

I’d say it’s more traditional style Chardonnay with those melon and peach hits you might not like.

Maybe worth swapping with someone who likes Chardonnay for a nice bottle of red or champagne.
