Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I really like a big and gutsy Barossa Shiraz but occasionally it's good to go somewhere else.
Tonight I decided to visit the Hunter and try something in a different style.
A subtle style with delicate tannins, a hint of spice. I'm sure I could have left it a few more years but it's drinking nicely now.
Being more subdued, this Shiraz could easily be enjoyed during the warmer months, I doubt it would blow your head off.
By the way, I really like my $11 lab flask as a decanter.

Went to a degustation a few years back in Manly, all courses paired with De Iulis. Many good wines

So we are out enjoying another great night at Olive Tree and some clown thinks Astralis best consumed out of a water glass:

Now as Cecelia says - ‘What happens at Olive Tree stays at Olive Tree’ - so please do not even try to qaz quizz me who this clown was! 👍

And here are the rest of the wines consumed that night.

Premium wine pairing @ Ten Minutes by Tractor yesterday. Food as good as the wine.

Chablis out of same vineyard, same vintage but different winemakers.

Oh, how was the Meshack? 2012 was generally a very good year so I was thinking it might be still a bit young?

Drinks well now but should improve with ageing.
Best Meshachs I had so far were around 15-20yr.

The last 2 nights it was a Petaluma pinot noir. Ok but the Tasmanian ones I was drinking were mostly better.

Tonight is dark, wet and cold so definitely port weather again. This is one of the first ports I bought.

Called a tawny but the label says vintaged in 1962. But if was Murray Tyrell who's reputation wasn't the greatest. Besides I wasn't buying wines in 1962. Probably purchased in 1968 for less than $1.
Certainly not the standard of those ports I have been drinking lately but nice enough on a miserable night.

Cracked a ‘15 Dry Country tonight- it’s developed a lot since I tried it at the CD. Full bodied, slightly raisiny and something I can’t put a name to but I like it. powdery, slightly drying tannins, juicy acidity, medium to long finish.
