Picked one up recently and have laid it down for a couple more years to bring out for my 50th

I've been lucky enough to have had this twice during the latter part of the last decade. Both times it was stunning. If your bottle is in good condition and has been stored well, then another few years are nothing to worry about. If you've just turned 21 then you might not wait to wait till your 50th

Is an auction purchase so taking (and accepting as) a gamble. On the outside, appears to be in good nic, still still in neck. Time (4yrs) will tell for the insides...

So if you can make your way to a Penfolds re-corking clinic in the interim. At least you'll know when big day comes around what to expect (and possibly have a backup plan).

Curious to know anyone tried the Penfolds Cellar Reserve Cabernet Shiraz? Seems it has a similar blend (Coonawarra Cabernet and Barossa Shiraz) but it is only a fraction of the price compared to Bin 90A.

Yer I had the 2015 about 3 years ago and it was quite nice
I was surprised at the sediment for such a young wine and how quickly the colour of the wine had changed

Can’t say there was one outstanding as there were many excellent wines and verities but if I must select a few then my highlights were (in no particular order):

MP Lovedale Semillon 2005
Leeuwin Chardonnay 2012
BF Sangreal Pinot Noir 2012
Able Barolo 2010
Wynns BL Cab Sav 1978
McWilliams Vintage Port 1977
