Love that the wynns red stripe is sitting next to the 06 St henri and 97 and 02 389s. What was the view? This year's HRLD (heavy red lifting day) with my school year mates gathering once again to help Peter clear some more rubbish out of his cellar and to enjoy his sensational cooking.
We were expecting about 17 blokes to show up; in the end it was 14.
The gap at head of the line was the Basket Press which, just before I arrived, had been chosen to kick things off, before a retreat to the Champagne with 10 doz oysters helping things along, and then moving down the line while the finger food kept rolling off the BBQ.
We worked our way down the line to the Moss Wood pinot, then skipped to the Talijancich liqueur verdelho.
All the wines were pretty sound, despite a few crumbling corks.
My WOTD was the Bordeaux. Still clearly recognisable cabernet fruit on nose and palate while moving over to tertiary characters.
A great 1200-1800h afternoon.

Really good after a few hours. Picked 6 of these up at a Langton's auction, but they were incorrectly advertised/pictured as the cabernet-merlot blend, which strangely wasn't produced in 2015. Sent off an email to Langton's and they were happy to refund me. Nice.

If you've got a few, no harm in cracking one open and then watching how it evolves over the years.Lovely vineyard I was lucky enough to visit 2 years ago. They have a great degustation and picturesque gardens. Have a small little collection of 2017 and 2018 Cab Sauv. Based on your experience, would you say a few more years to mature out before I open them?
Haven’t had one for many years. Used to be good. Tastings?Finished the Chalambar, so onto a CD.co Mystery box wine. Not too shabby!View attachment 393122

Crimson in colour, ripe berries and currant nose. Chocolate, five spice, currants on the palate add to the subtle but firm tannins. Very well balanced and great length.Haven’t had one for many years. Used to be good. Tastings?
