Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I was surprised by this wine. I thought it would be well and truly past it's prime. Nothing to write home about but after a couple of hours it was ok

What the heck is with that tasting note on the back. Looks like some generic made-up rubbish. Last thing a beaujolais is likely to be is overly tannic. Matches to French cheese....I doubt it would go well with roquefort.

I though even in WA, it is known that aged old vine Gamay is not like cheap beaujolais, particularly Morgon

Over the last week or so I’ve had some questionable stuff from the overpriced mini-mart in Hirafu, Japan.

With my expectations steadily declining, I’m declaring this “nice” and eligible for entry in the thread.



In fairness to the mini-mart, they seem to be price matching Dan’s cause it was only JPY1580 (roughly $15.80).

Back in the day, the Aussie grocery store was selling Rockford Basket Press for about AUD80 per bottle… Alas both the store and the basket press are long gone…
