Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Not super premium like some of the wines posted in this thread, but this bottle gets a nod for value.

Though perhaps it should be the restaurant getting the praise.

Went for dinner with friends at restaurant called Baan Mai at Mudjimba.

I’m not very familiar with Bec Hardy wines, but when I saw this on the wine list for $34/btl I was reasonably sure is was a good price.

I was too polite to google at dinner, but later discovered it’s $32/btl from cellar door and best I could find elsewhere was low 20’s.

Rare to get drinkable wine under $40 at a restaurant.

The food was also sensational.

Highly recommend to those fond of visiting the Sunshine Coast @QF WP or locals @drron

Dinner at Gaucho’s (ADL) last night. This drop was the highlight of the meal. Overall food was fairly tasty, but didn’t enjoy our server. Had some facial expressions when dealing with one of our group that should not have been displayed. Also yelling at our entire table of 10 ppl.

My Penfolds-loving friend enjoyed sharing this one with Mr Katie and me.

I gave up on Gaucho's.
Much prefer the Hereford Steakhouse which is also BYO.

Spent few days in Alentejo region in Portugal, famous for its food and wines. The locals speak English quite well and once they understand you know a thing or two about wine they love talking about it and sharing from their cellars. It’s refreshing to be able to drink good stuff without the hefty price tag often associated with old world wines.
