Secret wine (I think from MWG). Looks like another failed export.
....Deliciously different! Very well made.
100% Mouvedre/Mataro. Apparently the oldest vines.What varietal?

Chateau Tanunda ‘The Everest’ Grenache 2008
Chateau Tanunda ‘The Everest’ Grenache 2008 15%, Cork, $160! Source: Scammed a glass off a coworker www.chateautanunda.com Easily the most expensive straight Grenache around, this is sourced from 40yr old Greenock Grenache vines cropped at just 0.7 – 1.0 tonnes […]www.ozwinereview.com
Apparently awarded the title.of world's best red wine:
Smooth and refined this Cab Sav shows so much finesse, makes it dangerously easy to drink. Very tempted to open another bottle, not something we normally do on weekday!

So? The Lot 113 Or Talbots?The theme last night was Shiraz. Good to see wines with some age. The Marius was WOTN. Of course @JohnM managed to bring a faulty wine. What made that interesting is one of the group members works for said winery and was present last night.

Having been to a few AFF meetups with JohnM in WA I recall he is a fan of Howard Park so that would be my guessSo? The Lot 113 Or Talbots?

@Steady is on the money.
It put the cat among the pigeons, that's for sure. The tasting age range was 2006-2014. I won't mention the year of the faulty Howard Park as it may have been a random dodgy bottle. Besides, we couldn't really pin down what the fault was - maybe reduction and presence of mercaptans. It wasn't undrinkable but it stood out like a sore thumb from the others.
Anyway, our HP man was back at the winery yesterday and he's got the chief winemaker on the case. I'm yet to hear the verdict.

My money was on the St. Peter 13’. Large production does have their bottle variations. Was the screwcap damaged on that bottle?
Sounds like an excuse to me!The cap was sound. Feedback from the winemaker (on another bottle of that vintage) was that she was comfortable with the stylistic variation. Apparently in that year they used an oak variation which may have had an effect.
I think the oddity of my bottle was accentuated at our tasting by all the other wines being stylistically similar to each other.
