Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

We had all the family together for Xmas a few years back ( very rare)
Had a grand opening of an old grange , so so storage in a qld cupboard ….. it was like liquid cardboard...🥴

So we were cleaning out my late brother’s place and came to his wine. My sisters didn’t want this horrible old stuff, covered in an inch of dust, so I took custody of it. Probably going to be opened for a Christmas toast to him.

It would have been kept in a cool position and relatively un disturbed for most of its life. Contents look pretty full.

Any opinions on what it may be like? (offers to sample to assist opinion will be politely declined 😊)

Three 77’s from a stockbrokers cellar we tried in early 90’s were consigned to the drain. (perhaps that was why he gave them away.) Good luck.

Maybe the capsule is shipped separately because it’s pressurised it needs special shipping?

Can you let us know how the pivot goes?
Maybe, but the box had a space where the capsule should have been.

When I get some argon I'll let you know, although few bottles here last the whole evening! :)

FYI: I've had wines in restaurants and from those wine delivery systems in wine shops using Coravin and the wines where off and had to be renewed, but that's probably operator error.

Thanks. It’s hard to tell with wine under Coravin whether it was always bad or has gone bad unless you were there to taste it when the bottle was first open.
