Nightmares at LHR

Unless LHR has segregated terminals for international and domestic like Australia, or at least segregated segments within those terminals, they can never have Australian style outbound immigration checks.

It's actually a bit backwards that we still do it IMO. You can get the data easily from the airlines, works in the US.
Up until a few years ago they had some nominal desk which was invariably not manned at T3 just inside security.
Nothing at all at any airport now.

Has anyone flown into T3 recently on Finnair? Or any airline other than BA? Do you get your luggage straight away or is it a few days weight in T3 as well like T5?

I didn't have to wait for my checked baggage on EK...

just as a heads up for anyone thinking of buying airtags - i brought some from the apple store last week and they only had 4 of the 4 packs left. no singles. i also got the last pack of the belkin keyring holders.

as soon as i asked for them the next question from the salesperson was "where am i travelling to" as travllers have been snapping them up to track bags

Just go online and do a collect. It will tell you if there ready for immediate pick up or at worst, next day from what I can see in most SYD locations. Note to self, I still haven’t bought mine…

Fast Track lane?
No, general entry. Busy, but no different to SYD when we left. What's more, we checked in our 2 main bags, and one cabin bag (the latter at their request as a full flight) at 9am, for a flight at 8:30pm to MAN. All 3 bags arrived safely at MAN with us, a wait of about 20-30mins for them to appear. Whew!!!

I prefer my explanation :p

This is what I did, next day delivery to the post office near work. Came from a Sydney warehouse, and no stock in any Melbourne Apple store.

Can confirm that FRA, MUC, SYD, and LHR have all been terrible so far this year.

It is somewhat airline dependant (And flight density dependant too i guess).

Eg.
FRA/EK nil issues.

FRA/LH - lots of cancellations/delays.

Arrived LHR from CDG 5 minutesearly. . 1.40 has from landing to baggage being in my hand. Not complaining though as baggage arrived.

Considering this is a “frequent Flyer” forum, I seriously have to question why anyone needs to check luggage at all?
May I ask why ?
Pre covid husband and I had quite a few flights per year always with checked. Our trips are holidays not work and rarely together
