Same here, for 2 separate one-way bookings

I'd have preferred the original deal - no question about that !

10000 points will get you a Breville Waffle Maker on the Qantas Store, valued at $54 from Bing Lee. Doesn't seem like much compensation to me...

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

A sign of things to come....

just booked U class for next June for my wife SYD-LHR, and of course want to book car.

"Sorry, you are not eligible to book a transfer from the airport."

Is this beacuse of financial year/ length of time til flight, or a sign that ALL CDs will be "enhanced?

Or are they going to VA model where not all business seats are equal?

This happened to me too on P class fare. Give it 24 hours it should sort itself out.

$55 is what it costs for me to take a new Mercedes S class from home to the airport - so the 10,000 points work for me.

My only real gripe is getting nothing where I hadn't actually logged in and booked it yet.

What about the other 3 trips you would have been entitled to?

Have you confirmed this? I'm in the same boat and was thinking about shooting a PM to Red Roo.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Speaking with the driver at MEL - apparently Brunel management were told by QF that it is purely a cost cutting measure. The driver reported taking many CD pax for both LAX and LHR on a regular basis (both ways)... he knew what the QF media release said and the consensus among drivers it that is a lie.

Speaking with the driver at DFW - he had no idea that CD was being canned from July 1. Same company does transfers for both CD and QF cabin crew.

When I arrived in LA last week for CD, I was a bit surprised to find I was the only person with a driver waiting. Plus a lady who seemed to be the driver's supervisor.

So there seemed to be two people employed to handle one CD service (one Qantas staff member and the actual driver). I actually had some sympathy for it being canned if it was a typical load (and I came in on the Syd A380, so there should have been plenty of eligable F and J people to use the service). It seemed a bit overkill to me to manage a single FASA like that.

Kind of wish I'd lodged something about CD for the J service back to score the 10,000 pts, would have been the easiest 10k ever (just was no good for me since I'll be connecting at LAX from an AA service, so a bit deceptive to claim I would have used CD).

You don't happen to walk to Departure, or do you ?

CD covers both ends IIRC.

That assumes no one was connecting.

Mine came through on 30 June. I had quite forgotten about them!

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I sent an email to the QFF team over 4 weeks ago regarding CD being revoked and my upcoming flights. Haven't heard a word back since unfortunately.

Similarly, I sent a private message to Red Roo on July 5 in relation to an upcoming flight that had CD revoked - no reply as yet!

<snip>

Maybe you were the last passenger for that batch of planes. If there are quite a few people awaiting pick up it makes sense to have someone there coordinating the drivers and being able to address any queries from pax.

I know that when I recently returned from LAX I headed straight to the pick up point in MEL and there were many signs up displaying names. As I looked for mine the supervisor asked my name, looked at his sheet and noted I was earlier than expected (geez I did take 6.5 minutes from door opening to get there!). He then phoned the driver who was walking across from the car park to hurry up and collect me.

Someone has to be first there and someone has to be last there, maybe you were last and the supervisor remained until all pax had been collected?

I'd be happy to follow up if you could send me a private message with the details.

My apologies for the oversight. I'll reply asap. Thanks for your patience during this time.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Did you get a call from QF offering 10K points as compensation for the removed service?

No phone call, sorry I should have stated this. Flight is early September and I had not booked CD yet, as we hadn't decided on a hotel in LA. Maybe this was the reason for not getting a call...

Thanks, Red Roo, I look forward to your reply.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I have had no call and no points posted for Sept 10 flt.

I sent one too, and had a reply from Red Roo on the 4th July - was promised someone would call early the following week...nothing as yet.
