Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Consistent with having to 're-balance' aircraft if they decide to remove safety equipment (life rafts) as well?

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I don't quite understand why they can't still offer CD to/from the Aus ports for the flights (esp. ML & SY!)? It just doesn't make any sense at all! .

Agree, low take up rate in LAX, DFW is no reason to not offer it one-way from ex SYD/MEL/BNE. Maybe offering would cause too much of an imbalance in the heads of QF management.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Do QF/EK codeshare accross the Pacific? If not it sounds like they have reconsidered the agreement and are only offering CD on codeshare routes as a cost saver.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I don't understand why QF would do this.

I do (though I'm not happy about it). Their competitors on the American routes don't offer chauffeur drive, so there's no competitive pressure on QF to do so, i.e. they are not disadvantaged by not offering it.

No, the American routes were specifically exempted from the EK codeshare agreement.

CD will now be offered only on those few routes where the major competitors also offer it.

So they giveth in one hand and steal back in another,

Really Qantas what are you thinking !!!!!!!

Yet another enhancement.

At this rate I'll be surprised if I even get First on my upcoming flights to and from LAX.

We could run a book on whether it'll be Qantas or Qantas - Operated By Emirates! :P

Virgin Australia does, albeit only for J and C fares across the pacific.

Cue the "we don't consider VA competition" crowd.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

So much for bringing QF up to EK's standard...

Qantas A Premium Airline

By Premium they mean Premium Price not service and products how stupid. Compared to many Qantas is so very far from a premium airline these days with les and less being offered and more and more being charged. Its a joke absolute Joke

but this his must be a minority opinion.... according to the CEO at the senate inquiry qantas customer satisfaction is at record high levels.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I am very surprised that QF have not stated upfront that impacted customers are entitled to a full refund - or at least some sort of compensation. I think if you pushed, you'd get one.

Should you have to push to get a refund/compensation ?

No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

This is an appalling way to treat your customers, truly appalling.
The fact that it is customers shelling out considerable sums of money or hard earned points on premium class travel makes it even poorer business sense.
QF should be honoring CD bookings ex-Australia for all current ticket holders to LAX and DFW by allowing them to have CD bookings to and from their Australian gateway airport even if they cannot offer it in the US.
If I had a current affected booking this is the minimum I would be prepared to accept.

Whoever made this decision needs their head looked at IMHO.
Killing off QFi slowly but surely :(

Refund of what? How do you price the limo component?

I have never known company to continue to shoot itself in the foot with these continual changes to the detriment of its customers, what are they thinking??.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Just had a call from QF (Lack of) Customer Service.
QF CSR- "Hi Mr Dmac6345, just a courtesy call to let you know that your 2 upcoming flights over to LA in Aug and Oct and no longer offering CD"
DM- "Oh really, why is that?"
QF CSR- Well, im not actually sure of the reasoning behind this, but I do need to confirm with you, that you will need to make your own way to and from the airport"
DM- "Thanks for letting me know, altought I was already aware of this"
QF CSR- "Oh, new travels fast doesn't it Mr Dmac6345!"
End of Phone Call.

Note: I have already sent QF Customer Service an email expressing my fury over this and the way its been handled. Hence, the reason I didnt take it any further on the phone.
QF are very efficent in making phone calls delivering cost saving bad news, but terrible communicating everything else!

Red Roo, any input ?????
