So is there any news if Qantas have resumed offering spirits in J yet?

No spirits on BNE-CNS the other night unfortunately. The CSM indicated spirits hasn’t been reintroduced onto flights yet.

PER flights to/from the east coast used to include dessert wine and port in business class. Are those gone too, or just spirits?

Noticed a sign in the Syd business lounge scrolling over on the TV’s yesterday “the spirit has returned”. Thought of this thread and had a chuckle to myself. Cant report if the actual spirit that gets consumed has returned as it was an early flight and I was in Y.

I wasn’t aware red label counted as a spirit 😂

You could say that, but VA J is not pretending to be EK F. I didn't mind the red label, although the Gordons gin on VA doesn't particularly appeal to me. Still, what is the competition offering? ;)

For anyone interested, the current spirits menu in VA J is:
  • Gordons Gin
  • Jim Beam Bourbon White Label
  • Bundaberg Rum
  • Johnnie Walker Scotch Red Label
  • Smirnoff Vodka

Pretty bottom shelf selection but typical of most airlines approach to spirits unfortunately

At least for those airlines that serve spirits.

Exactly, unfortunately the minis trade is just dominated by by the multinationals that churn out mass produced spirits and are really low margin which is why you don't see more premium, small batch providers even bothering to supply.

Anyway, all subjective, some people love Gordons I hear.

What Mattg is not reporting is that he is now in self isolation for fourteen days as a result of consuming spirits in J. Not to mention he took his mask off to consume said spirits!!

I’m sure those paint stripper spirits inoculated him from any virus anyway ;)
