If lounges are for frequent flyers why is the food always the same?

The Qantas Business/Plat lounge have a great rotation of food items.

If you are talking about Virgin then sure, hot dogs and hot dogs and hot dogs is all you will get 95% of the time

I'm currently enjoying the green pea and mint soup in the ADL QP :D

I was there around the same time doing the same thing and watching a bit of the football in between legs of a status run - green pea and mint soup wasn't too bad!

Based on discussion in the island dining thread, a normal lounge food thread seems in order. So he it is and to kick start things we have chicken parmigiana and mash in the SYD T3 J lounge.

I had much debate about where was best to start this thread as it could be open to all lounge food. But decided QF lounges might be a good starting point.

That is my type of food.
Looks really nice. I hope it is not gourmet in any way.

It definitely isn't gourmet and is quite repugnant.

I didn't mine it. A bit buttery/oily with the beans. But can see how it mightn't be everyone's cup of tea. I was amazed by the rudeness and disorder of people attacking the serving area when a new lot was put out.

I am never amazed or surprised about the feeding frenzy - reminds me of this:

About 13s in.

There you go JohnK - normal food in the MEL J lounge - steak pie with sauce!

Perfect!

I might have to send more feedback for party pies to make an appearance in lounges more often. Most of the time I have no idea what food they are serving so do not touch it.

Best thing about domestic J lounge in SYD is the raspberry friand type cakes they have there and the little cookies in the coffee machine area.

Eggs, bacon and something or other I could not work out, nor read without my glasses, and did not try in the SYD business lounge this morning.

The eggs were OK for reconstituted eggs and bacon had a funny taste but just as well I had some as the SYD-BNE flight only had muesli, small mufin and apple.
