Food for thought,
I tweeted Luke Mangan suggesting pancakes in the lounge during the morning, what does everybody else think of the idea?

Definitely. As far as I'm concerned, they can get rid of all the meat and cheese etc at breakfast time, and maybe have some more breakfasty type stuff. More muffins, danishes, croissants, fruit, maybe some hot food would be nice as well. I like the yoghurt things (similar to QF J lounge) although they could be a bit bigger.

Has anyone seen a firm date for Virgin junking Velocity and relaunching their new PROPER FF program??
I'm about to LOSE it with Velocity and the only thing keeping me going is this supposed 'coming soon' announcement!!!
They've said quite a few times that the relaunch will come by the end of the year, with some of the details released before that. So at the most it will be 5 months and 14 days. But I doubt they'll wait until new year's eve, so I think you'll probably hear about it before then!

I have a theory it will be around August as the Singapore/ DL etc partnerships come online. Also things like the P/E taste tests end at end of August - although they could just be extended again. Then again i am totally making this up based on a series of probably uninformed guesses.
Also i don't see how the new program will be called anything other than Velocity. Why invest in a new logo, new branded credit cards, etc etc if you're going to junk it all in a few months time? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Hmmm...life must be bad - don't think it's really worth losing any sleep over a FFP, IMO.
It was delivered last month, and its already in my list, YIA and YIB are nextFor those who are interested...
VH-YVA has been delivered to Virgin Australia in the new livery. This aircraft is equipped with Boeing Sky Interior.
That makes four now. YFC,YFE,YFF & YVA
*** HOT OFF THE PRESS ***
I just got off the phone from changing a booking with Virgin. I was speaking to someone in Oz and I casually mentioned that I was aiming for Platinum by the end of the year.
She then said "oh we got an email about that today". I said "really? what did it say?" She then said "oh, I better check if I'm allowed to say anything yet ... [pause] ... oh damn it says it's not public information yet".
She then said "Usually we're the last to find out these things as we're probably likely to mention something accidentally on the phone before we're supposed to!"
So ... if an email has been sent out to the call centre, and I'd agree they probably do get notified quite close to the public release date for info (based on experience working in training at other organisations) I'd guess there's some sort of announcement or further information on Platinum coming some time pretty soon! Well at least I hope there is!
(PS. Feedback for Virgin Australia - Sarah in the J class contact centre reservations was excellent!)
What did you think the best benefit of all was?"
