NRT lounge crawl 11 June 2017

I am probably out.

I have flown ex-NRT more than enough, and the lounges don't really excite me. Given I will be there in April for a do, I doubt I will return in June to just visit the airport.
You're not just visiting the airport you're hanging around with a great bunch of people. I have really enjoyed the lounge crawls I have been on and it's good to be with a group of people but you can also go off and do your own thing.

HKG and SIN have been quite cheap for me. If there's a decent special to/from NRT for this next year then I'll try to go. If nit then definitely back again the year after in SIN/HKG.

Yeah, but I'm really anti-social and people on this forum don't like me...

Sounds like a fun long weekend. QF62 seems the best choice back to Oz in order to maximise lounge time. Now if someone knows a creative way to get me there from MEL - I'm all ears. A tentative Platinum here.

I'm planning a Japan trip for hanami. Depending on when the flowers bloom, please put me down as "maybe" (I don't know the colour codings ).

For people with checked luggage?

Do a domestic flight with an international connection.
In the past we have caught the early JAL flight from Sapporo - checked our bags through and received QF boarding passes at CTS, then met up with friends in the international terminal before our evening QF flight. If you arrive early you can also catch a bus to Narita township for a look around before heading back to the airport.

For cherry blossoms, it's usually around late March - mid April in most areas in Japan, although it can be up to mid-May in the far north. It definitely won't stretch into June, but there are also other species of flowers. The shibazakura comes after the cherry blossoms, generally staying till mid/late May. After which, look for some rose gardens. Of course, very different flowers, but all very pretty.

We have been a bit spoilt with the 'in town' checkin and bag drop at the train station for KUL and HKG the last few years.

If a domestic flight (as Fifa has suggested) is not possible perhaps try to travel HLO.

Ooooh put me down for Gold please. I've got to be in Berlin for a conference in late June...so this could work out very well!

In saying that never say never and always a chance I could still attend. Please mark me down as Silver.
Never say never. This is back on the planning schedule and if I'm going to visit Japan once in my life it may as well be with drunks. :p

At least we now have another option from NRT :).
The current MEL-NRT sale fares include the lounge crawl weekend but unfortunately I am unable to commit just yet.
