And using the last of my Hilton points plus a small purchase at a discount rate means I have secured a room at the Tokyo Conrad for 10 June.

Trying to make this work and having great difficulty.

Can get award for myself, wife and daughter BKK-SIN-NRT quite cheaply to arrive Sunday morning but then there is no CX availability in economy NRT-HKG-BKK on the afternoon flight. There is availability on the QF flight to SYD and then QF flight to BKK. :shock:

There are no award seats on CX or JL in the evening to any city. There is a one-way flight HND-SYD-BKK on QF all the way for ~AUD950 but that could be torture and it is a different airport?

yeah a HND flight wouldn't be much help for airside access at NRT nor the long bus or train connection

I've spent around a dozen Junes in Tokyo, and no, it's not pleasant.

"Average" rainy season runs June 8 to July 21. First day has ranged between June 3 and June 10 the past five years.
