[Offer Closed]: Citibank Gold NO ANNUAL FEE FOR LIFE

For those who haven't noticed, Citibank has removed the www.citibank.com.au/cardsoffer/offers/gold_nofee_A.htm and simply redirects to the main Citibank website.

But /gold_nofee_B.htm /gold_nofee_C.htm and /gold_no_feeD.htm are still working no problem.

I think its due to them updating their website when they upgraded their internet security over the weekend which is dreadful - I hate the onscreen keyboard.

This morning (1 Nov) I did an online application for a Citibank Visa under promotion code DDPA66YA (the "no annual fee for ever" code). After doing all the data entry I got to a Confirm screen which, among other things, said I would be charged $119 pa for primary card and $30 for secondary. So looks like that "no fee for ever" card is not available anymore. Pity Citibank does not give the conditions for a card before people spend time on data entry.

Don't stress too much, the same thing happened to me. My card arrived this week and the letter of offer definitely said that both the primary and partner cards have $0 annual fee.
When they rang up to confirm to card application, they asked me if was from an online application (they didn't know - or an additional check?).

So if you are prepared to argue with someone on the phone from India if you don't get a fee free card - I'd go ahead. The worst that can happen is that you'll have to explain to someone that you applied via a fee free link (there also was no end date on it!) and as such you don't expect to pay an annual fee. If they then don't waive it, simply tell them that you won't be proceding and they can cancel the card application.

It appears none of them work anymore. Am I right?

It is working for me. Just goto:
Citibank Gold Card
or
Citibank Gold Cardor
Citibank Gold Card
etc.

Thankyou very much for that. I have applied and everything seems OK. Unlike the experince of drfj and others the confirm screen said:

4. I will be billed at a later date for an annual account fee of:
No Annual Fee will be charged on your Credit Card account for the life of the Card.

I printed out all documentation.

I will be interested how my application progresses. I have a large enough income (retired/self employed) but I don't use an accountant. So I put "not applicable".

Good luck. Citibank seem to be very by the book with their acceptance procedure, so if you are self employed, and don't have an accountant, I think they will require you to send them documents such as previous tax returns.

If what is reported about their call centres is near true, then they might be looking up the white pages for an accountant named Mr Not Applicable!

I have my citibank gold - no fee for life, missed out on the OS travel insurance as I had already bought my tickets with the old Ezy mastercard and I also have my wizard card for OS purchases and cash. Only one problem left is I can't find the direct debit form to automatically pay my gold card before the interest free date expires. I have phoned twice over the past 2 weeks to have one mailed but nothing has arrived yet. So do you reckon they are hoping I will forget to B pay so they can hit me with the interest or am I just not looking properly?

I spoke to them about the same problem. If you have a fax they will send you the form

You can download the DD form from the website if you like, but I would pay off the current bill regardless of how far away the due date is.

Cheers,

Andrew

I don't have a fax at home, but could use the one at work. Downloading would be better but can't find it under "forms and links". Could someone direct me please.

How long does it take to receive the additional cardholder card?

I received my card a little over two weeks ago now. I noticed on the letter it said that they would send out the additional card after I activated my card, but 2 weeks is getting a little long. I received the PIN about three business days ago.

I requested a third additional cardholder on the Internet about three business days ago (you can have up to 4 additional cardholders), so if I get this before my second additonal card, I will presume something has gone wrong with the post.

But compared with other banks, Citibank is considerably slower. Something to remember in the event that you lose your card and need a replacement.

The one thing that I really do not like about Citibank, is that it does not allow you to transfer (Bpay etc) in advance.

I sent them through a message and they replied saying (bla bla bla) that it will be included in future internet banking upgrades.

hmmmm

bit of background:
When i applied, the system said it was not able to process my application. I remember that i clicked refresh on that page so it must have submitted twice? I got 2 confimation emails for my application.

Now:
I received 2 letters in the mail. One that saids I have not been approved a SILVER card (what the), the second one says I have not been approved a GOLD card but I have been approved a SILVER card (what the). I called up to ask but the operator reckons that both applications have been rejected.
I asked to speak to someone else but no supervisor was available.

Well, the strange thing is that all my friends got approved it and they all earn less than me so whats the deal?

Crosscourt,

I suggest you check your credit history with Baycorp. Also best not to alarm Citibank, and just wait for the card to turn up.

Don't think theres any problems with credit history.
I'm one of those people that pay off all balances on time.

I'll wait before I call again.

The funny thing is that the operator admitted that there is a problem with their system, how that its inconsistent with the letters they sent to me.

I just signed up for it, then i got the error message:
"
Sorry, we are unable to process your request. Please call CitiPhone Banking on 13 24 84 for more details. "

Then immediately after that I received an email saying that my application is being processed...

What is going on??

I guess I'll up helpdesk tomorrow (grrrr) but has anybody experienced this before???

Thanks!

I applied two days ago, got the same message. Have not followed it up. Will be most interested to know what the helpdesk has to say!
