I got a call from them today, asking me to fax bank statement to them. Not sure why that is required. So obviously they did receive the application, and they have also contacted my accountant!

I applied two days ago, got the same message. Have not followed it up. Will be most interested to know what the helpdesk has to say!

You should have read my warning from many posts earlier. DO NOT APPLY LATE AT NIGHT.

Every night they backup their systems.

Don't worry. They will still process your application. They processed mine, and I got my card about 10 days after applying.

Hello all,

Wow i'm a bit behind on reading the posts aren't I. It seems one of the links for this offer doesn't work anymore. Does anyone still know of a URL that works for this offer please or has it been completely removed.

never mind I think I found it Citibank Gold Card

thanks for the all informative info everyone. I love reading this site and everyones opinions even if I do stay fairly quiet myself :)

Just a brief update - I applied six days ago online and received a phone call today stating they'd already spoken to my payroll folks and the application would be processed in the next three to five days. :)

Something that surprised me a little was the call centre operator asking me if I applied online or by phone. I would have thought they'd have this sort of information handy but evidently not. She sounded a bit surprised when I said online so perhaps they might start hunting through their website to find that pesky link that still exists and allows sneaky folks to apply?

As long as the offer is available via junk mail, it might as well stay available online!

I noticed on the last statement that the interest rate has been changed and is now almost 20%..

Well for most of us here who always pay on time 20% interest doesn't really matter. If it does matter then they should get a low rate card and don't worry about frequent flyer points.

Is the "no annual fee" Gold Card still available? My daughter looked on the Citibank website yesterday and couldn't find it> Any advice?

Try reading the last few pages of this thread.

The one thing that I really do not like about Citibank, is that it does not allow you to transfer (Bpay etc) in advance.

I sent them through a message and they replied saying (bla bla bla) that it will be included in future internet banking upgrades.

For those that like to schedule bill payments in advance, from almost any account/card, check out Australia Post : POSTbillpay - Home Page

It's not BPay but I found most of my billers are available and accept MasterCard....

supplementary card fee?

Are supplementary card(s) for this offer free?
Logging into the citibank account section, supplementary card appear to have a charge of $30.
Can anyone confirm please?

Yes. It's $0 on my welcome letter, and I've been asked twice by the Indian call centre if I want any extra cards for anyone since they are free

Yes, supplementary cards are free. If you apply over the phone or Internet, it will say the cost is $30, but when you get the letter it will be free.

I currently have received 3 supplementary cards (plus my card). I intend to get another supplementary card shortly. (Note: 4 is the limit).

Also, I recommend applying over the phone. I applied for one of my cards over the Internet, and it gave me a reference number. A few weeks later after not receiving it, I called up. They had no record of it. I wanted to give my reference number to them, but they said that they had no way to look up by reference number.

Has anyone ever transfer the Citibank Rewards points to Qantas based on the No Annual Fee for life credit card? In my Citibank internet banking, it said that minimum block of 5000 points required for transfer. However the original offer indicated that need 10000 points minimum for transfer to Qantas. Strange. Maybe they decided not to impose that limit for us here?

I've transferred 2 lots of 5,000 points to QFF. One lot, only yesterday. Apparently they intend to impose a 10,000 minimum on us 'freebies' but they haven't updated the website yet and we're able to transfer in blocks of 5,000. For how long? - Who knows?

I used the links provided earlier by one9 for the no annual fee gold card in my wifes name on the 20th Dec. By the 22nd the online application status had changed to "Congratulations! You have been conditionally approved pending verification of your application information. We will contact you shortly." They did indeed contact us on our home phone which was a bit late on Friday evening to ring them back. So today we phoned citibank, and all they wanted to confirm was correct name and address, so it looks like they may still honour the no annual fee offer. We also applied for an additional card. I will keep the forum informed

Online status today states "Congratulations! You have been approved for a Citibank Gold Visa. We'll contact you shortly with further details", not bad considering Christmas was smack bang in the middle.

I have my gold card now so I called up to cancel the silver card. As a "long time customer" they gave me 5000 reward points to keep the account open. The annual fee isn't due for another 5 months, so I accepted their offer. Not sure what's in it for Citibank though.

Probably just the perception (or hope in your case) that a lot of people just rollover their CC renewals "just in case they need it." I'm sure 5000 points is a small price for the gamble and results they achieve.

I just got my Citibank free Gold Visa on Thursday. The letter said annual fee $0 and additional card(s) $0, i'm very happy!
