Hi guys,
I'm also waiting for approval. Checked the citi website to check on progress and just get the 'you are conditionally approved' message.

Aside from a credit report and verification or employment & salary, what else needs doing? I suppose it will take between ANZ's 60 seconds and Amex's ten working days...?

Anyone working for a large org or govt agency who can report on the approval timeframe?
I'm at the same stage as you BiziBB. Just got that conditionally approved message in the last hour or so. I too work for a large govt dept so can't help with the approval timeframe info (yet) but suspect that govt payroll dept inertia will be the main hold up in approval.
I'd really like this card asap because my ezy mastercard statement date is tomorrow so points effectively halve in value from then. I'll be transferring this month's points to QFF at 1:1 as soon as they appear.

Happily, here are some reports of the approval timeframe :)

Yay! I've been conditionally approved as well. They will be contacting me. Will look forward to getting this card!

As a customer of the Woolworths EzyBanking Mastercard (RIP) for some time I recently took up the CitiBank Gold Mastercard no annual fee offer and just received my card. The card came with a credit limit of $25,000. On calling the CitiBank call centre and trying to reduce the credit limit (as I want to reduce exposure should the card be lost/stolen, etc) I was told that the minimum credit limit I could set was $20,000. This seems odd to me, the terms and conditions I received state nothing about a minimum credit limit and surely a bank can't force a minimum credit limit of such a high number?

Is there any credit industry code of conduct or similar I can quote to CitiBank to persuade them to reduce my credit limit to a much lower level (eg $3,000).

Hi,
Day 4 after the application and our payroll people were contacted. Within an hour, our person had arranged a response for Citi. Five hours after this, a Citi person called to ask for my written consent. I guess this written consent was not sent with my details, so hopefully that will be sorted out and I'll get approved by day 5

I realise this is slightly OT so my apologies.

But Citibank are up to sneaky tricks. So yes a printout of the offer will be very handy. Have a look at www.citibank.com.au/plus.

As you can see they will waive the $5 fee if you have $500 salary deposited and a Visa debit card as well.

I called them about this - they will only waive the $5 fee for 12 months only - after then, they will start charging the fee again.

Just thought people should be warned about this, because it's not in their advertising.

If that is the case, I wonder whether there are other hidden catches to this credit card offer that are not advertised? Surely Citibank will drum up something such as "card activation fee" or "monthly statement, envelope and postage fee" or "annual customer support fee" ot "Reward Redemption Fee" .........

Yes I know it is over the top but then again it is Citibank we are talking about ....

Fax sent to my company on Monday to check my details...manging Director gave it to me at 4pm....and I faxed it as I was leaving at about 6pm.

About 7:30pm I received a phone call on my mobile to check details.

Checked website later that night and it says that I am proviosoanlly approved.

All within 24hours. So far so good.

Next step as I understand it is that I will get the card in the post and will have to front up somewhere for the 100 point check.

So for me the service has been quick...and quicker than my recent Amex joining.

I received the same approval email at 4:20 AM.

A friend who has also applied, was phoned yesterday and asked to fax a payslip. Citibank tried, unsuccessfully, to call me yesterday (presumably to ask me to do the same) but have approved me anyway. --Go figure!

Here is another offer from Citibank ..... Saw it from Sydney Morning Herald. 0% balance transfers and purchases for 6 months:

Citibank Australia - Citibank Gold Card

the ad didn't mention anything about annual fee though. Probably they should have mentioned it in the ad. Of course this offer is not as good as no annual fee ever promotion.

Hi All,
I applied on Sunday online, on Tuesday (i think, could have been monday) my HR dept called for my authorisation to hand out my salary and details etc...
I have recieved the card in the mail today - 25,000 credit limit - which i think is mad given i have never banked with them - oh well.
the summary shows $0 annaul fee for this year and each other following year. It also shows additional cards as $0 for this and every future year.
no activation fees etc...
all it says now is i have to wait for my pin - then phone up to activate my card - i can not see anywhere that i need to do a 100 point id check or anything like that - does anyone know if i have to?

How to obtain the "no annual fee"? I looked at the citibank site and could only see the $119 annual fee. The applicaation form syated the same. Help!!

Did you use the link from the first page of this thread?
Citibank Gold Card

Hi,
I received e-mail notification approval by day 6 (Saturday morning) and the card and 100 points check letter in the mail today, day 9. If my employer's HR dept was contacted before day 4, it may have been a couple of days faster (there was zero delay at this end).

There were a couple of phone calls in this time, with details of the approval process (from SIN I think) which was reassuring.

Aside from getting a smaller credit limit than my ANZ card (slightly less, almost $20k) I'm happy.
The fee disclosure with the card shows $0 pa for the annual fee and additional cards, plus the 3.4% foreign currency surcharge.
Interestingly, Citi notes that 2% goes to MC or Citi...)

Thanks for the tip on this card :)

I have my Qantas AMEX card (no annual fee first year), and the Citibank Gold (no annual fee ever) is currently in-process.
At the end of the day, I suppose Woolworths-Commbank kind of did me a favour.

Question:

Did those that have received cards, get their card and then their activation letter? Or Vice versa?

I received today Tuesday my activation letter, but I have no card yet.

I am wondering if my card has gone missing????

Thanks for that ray...though I desire to know about the Citibank card specifically.

however you said above your Amex was free fora year....and you know mention platinum....so did you get an amex Platinum free fora year???

if so where was this deal please? thank you.
