Re: Citibank Gold (No annual fee ever) I received a phone call yesterday from Citibank confirming approval.
Kind regards
Ray

Hi,
Have you each received another (3rd) letter, containing the card's pin, for internet banking? My Filipina call centre person would not allow me to reset or get a new pin, saying I have to wait for the letter with the PIN to arrive.

It should be here any day, as it has been 3 days since my card & 100pt check letters arrived. The PIN letter's date was similar to these other letters.

Was the pin letter amongst the 2 letters you received, or was it sent separately? How much longer did this letter take?

Cheers!

I received 2 letters containing pin no's today, 2 days after the first letters(acceptance letter, card and info on 100 point check) One is the internet banking pin and one is the phone pin. Just need to get to the Post office now and do the 100 point ID check then I can cancel my Ezy Mastercard and My ANZ FF card (Thanks for the 16,000 points ANZ but 1,500 points per month just doesn't cut it).

Qantas Amex Premium card is my 1st option now and Citibank Gold is my second --- For how long?-- Who Knows?

Well, I have the card, and it is activated. No sign of the 100 point check, and no sign of the TPIN now. Interestingly, the credit limit I got wasn't even remotely a round number, it's an odd limit, and far in excess of what I need. I will be dropping it down when I can. I don't like having limits that are four times what I use on even the busiest months!

Hibeardoc,
You have 30 days to get the Post Office to send the 100pts to Citi.
A passport & DL will get 110pts, and will not take long. You'll get a receipt showing the 110pts.

The PIN arrived in the mail today, 3 days after the card & 100pt letter. This was despite my address being slightly incorrect!

Good luck!

Assistance Please

I have had my application rejected because I have just received a new silver card (And my first from Citibank) in July. According to the nice lady, its their policy to have a mandatory 9mth wait between issuing a second card.

I explained that I am happy to cancel my Silver Card and switch across to the Gold card if that makes a difference. However, she simply repeated her 9mth rule.

Therefore, I have been told to apply again in May 2007.

Therefore -

1. Does anyone know when this special will expire?

2. Does anyone have a contact at Citibank that would be willing to look into my case for me?

Many thanks for any assistance that can be offered!

Did anybody have any problems applying? I got this email back but no further details since my application, I even called up Citibank and they advise that it may take 14 days for the application process:

=============================================

Dear xx_xx_X

Thank you for your application. Please note we are still processing your application and will contact you shortly.

If you have provided your email address, we will email you an Application Reference number, which will allow you to check the current status online at Application Status.

Alternatively, you will receive a letter advising the success of your application.

Surely getting an application reference shouldn't take over a week? should I just apply again or do I need to follow up again to get Citi to investigate?

sydney_kings, I would not apply again or you will have 2 applications in and possibly cause confusion and more delays. Took over a week for my approval and card to arrive BUT another week later still no ID check form or pin. Processing time seems different for everyone.
If they said 14 days, I'd give it a while and then phone again.

I had a similar problem, I telephoned Citibank and the lady said i was eligible to upgrade from Silver to Gold, I didnt take up the offer due to the $119 annual fee. I then came accross the no annual fee gold card offer and promptly telephoned Citibank again to take up the offer but the lady said that I would either have to pay the $119 fee and get upgraded over the phone immediately or I would have to apply for the gold card offer over the net. I did apply and i was declined even though i asked them to close my silver card account.

I suspect this is because Citibank really want this no fee for life card to bring in new business, rather than cannibalise their existing business that they already have. It really is annoying, but that's what they figure - you're already a Citibank customer so they don't need to offer you an inducement to stay!

hi

for those who already had a citibank visa gold card before this offer, have you been successful in switching to this no fee ever deal ?

I have a citi bank visa gold card and want to switch over to the no fee deal.

I suppose you first have to apply online and then after being approved you switch over, so what happens to all the current points I got on my visa gold card now, do they roll over with this deal ?

Thanks

I just applied so I'll let you all know how I go.

I already have a savings account with Citibank so I think I should be able to skip the 100pt check.

Keeping this card purely for emergecy use only/international travel.

The high limit is a bit off putting though. I don't like to have more than $5k free.

Thanks for the heads up on this tho!

Hello,

I got my card today and the letter says 0$ will be debited to you account as fees, but to double confirm I called up Citibank and the guy said that there was no promotional code as such on my account and assured me that there will definately me fees charged to me if I activate the card.

Anybody else found this on their account

Another interesting thing that I noticed about my card was that the card is only valid for 1 year, otherwise Citibank transaction cards and ready credit cards are valid upto 2049 why the CC only for a year. Is it something to do with charging fees latter on or is it normal on citibank CC

Credit Cards are generally only valid at most a few years. I am not sure exactly how they determine the validity length but I have had them vary between one and three years.

Received my card and 100pt identity check letter today.

Called up to activate the card (and had to listen to the robot run through the entire CreditShield advertising spin...) then went to the PO to complete the check. I assume I can use the card now. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Citibank only gives 1 year at the beginning. Your next card would be 3 years if your payment is ontime in the first year

Well in my case, and I have never had any form of Citibank card before Debit, Credit or anything else...before, my card is valid to 09/09

So that is 3 years in my beginning.

Cheers.

Same here - never been a Citi customer before, but my card expires on 09/09.

Cheers,

I applied for a Gold Visa and got a rejection:

"Unfortuately, we are unable to establish another account for you this time.....With the Citibank account/s that you currently hold, you have reach the maximum limit we can provide you with at this time"

I faxed Citbank and advise that I want to close the Silver Visa account and am awaiting their response. Has anyone had the same problem?
