One point rewards promo??

It's finished now. I tried again on a different account.

They posted on Instagram before and implied it was starting very soon. I guess by Today they really mean tomorrow? They're definitely pushing the definition of "Soon" at this point!
Well thats great for the social media fans, but for I'm guessing many of us who don't have instagram, we will never be notified of the event ?

According to those on Instagram, only those who clicked within seconds of the posting managed to get anything, so I dare say even with Instagram you would need a fair bit of right place, right timing.

I didn't even go via Instagram. Someone on Facebook posted about it in one of the groups I'm in. Instagram wasn't until about five minutes after I had joined the queue

Just saw this thread. Well, VA were true to their (sorta last) word: 'August', but if its notifiable via Social Media only, its useless (and possibly useless even then).

Back to something productive.

So there is a different link/store then the normal velocity rewards store?

I was just refreshing the 0-2000 pt search(in the search bar)

Well done to everyone who got something, I might have to give up on this promotion as it seems the chance of being in the right place at the right time is almost impossible

That was the page I have been monitoring too. The 1pt rewards did show up on there. I’d been sporadically refreshing that page and happened to hit it just before the insta post and I saw the airpods, dyson hairdryers etc.

However, you also need to log in to the store to check out, and at this point it will stick you in the queue before it lets you back onto the store. I wasted some time trying to add stuff to my cart first before I tried to login, so I wasn’t in the queue as quickly as I could have been.

By the time I got through the queue and back onto the store it was just the cookbooks, some Pandora tat, nose trimmers, electric toothbrushes, a toaster, various cheaper (non Apple) headphones and a few other bits and bobs. Made a split second decision on a waffle maker as posted upthread.

Despite all the complaints from people who missed out, I guess they must have had a fair bit of stuff to giveaway, as I was probably in the queue for 5-10 minutes — and the whole sale probably took, what 20? 30 mins? I would expect a fair quantity of items will have been checked out during that time.

I feel like VFF are on a hiding to nothing with this promo: the negative response from the majority who inevitably miss out will far outweigh the positive views of the much smaller number who get something.

Credit to Velocity, the queue system is a pretty clever approach. It's not going to solve the problem of inventory vs demand, but in terms of delivering the original concept without the embarassment of things falling over, it's novel

Beats queuing on Chapel St ahahahaha (I was in town when that happened, saw how long the queue was and went 'nope' and went back to my hotel for breakfast)

Just happened to click the link just now and saw a bunch of items for 1 point. By the time I click some airpods a few seconds later it was out of stock…

I've given up on the promo - They've promised 'multiple drops' but nothing seems to be happening! The Tuesday event sounds like it worked well, so why has nothing else happened since!!

Yep, I think Tuesday was just done because they advertised it would start up again in August and they were running out of days!!

Yeah, just scraped in before the end of August!

The updated terms say "1 Point Rewards will only be made available at a certain time each week during the Promotion Period" which implies to me that it's one drop per week. The updated promotion period is between "28 August and 24 September 2023" which is exactly four weeks, so I would guess that means four drops in total, one per week.

That would also align with enforcing "members are limited to redeeming only one 1 Point Reward redemption per Velocity member per week", although I have no idea why they've left that in. I mean I'll absolutely be trying again but it would have made more sense given limited inventory to restrict it to one per member across the entire promotion.

One per week might be to get the successful punters to stop reloading the site on a semi-regular basis and reduce website load?? Mind you, not sure if anyone else would actually think along those lines... 😑

So how do you get your certificate if you managed to snag a one-point domestic Reward flight? I haven't heard anything yet.

I'm an idiot :D
