One point rewards promo??

I've given up on the promo - They've promised 'multiple drops' but nothing seems to be happening! The Tuesday event sounds like it worked well, so why has nothing else happened since!!

same...not getting notifications on Insta, even though I've explictly turned them on.

Can't say I'm very impressed with their new Velocity head, Nick, who signed off on this. Promos under Karl were a lot more even handed.

So much hype for a - much delayed - promo which seems to really only run once or twice a week, for only ~15 minutes, for 4 weeks, and basically only targeting instagram customers, aside from a brief offering to Melbourne residents.

If they want to run an insta promo, fine, run one. This pretended to be one for the general customer base but what it delivered has been way off the mark. And the other 99.9% of the time the promotion sits there doing nothing.

Good work on the flight! Was a minute or so late on the instagram notification and still stuck in queue at about 1/3. Had good luck past weeks though i guess so can't complain!

Quick fingers and a strategy yielded sweet, sweet victory (after 2 weeks of failure).View attachment 344176
What was your strategy?

Congratulations!

For once, I was late to the game (by 17 minutes). Got a(nother) flight in my cart but not hoping for much
you did all right! I've been on since the 5 minute mark and 20 minutes later i'm still in the queue on three browsers :(

About a minute too late for this promo. I suspect people who are successful are monitoring either the 1point landing page or the e-store for 1 point items (which will appear before the Instagram notification goes out) but who knows.

Wouldn't even bother clicking after 5 minutes. Whilst there's some evidence that it isn't a simple first in first out queue as different devices can progress at different rates, I've clicked after 2 minutes at least 3 times and not even hit half way on the progress bar, as far as I'm concerned 5 minutes would be a write off

I actually used the link I already saved from when they tried to run the promo back in June. It was how I was able to nab the flight first week the second attempt at the promo started running. It didn't work for subsequent weeks despite being right on time as the promo started, so part of it was also due to luck.

I don't get it.

I'm signed up to all their emails but it seems we don't get notifications about these via emails. Have I missed something here? How are people notified, or do you simply spend your life refreshing the VA website?

It was essentially just through instagram. You would get notified of their instagram story and the rewards would go live. Or in theory you could just keep checking the estore website and try get lucky at the right time.

The first two weeks I found out via the Velocity Frequent Flyer Facebook group; Instagram was too slow
