So we are thinking of leaving luggage at Roma st apparently there are lockers there??
and will go over to south bank maybe wander around the city find somewhere for dinner then head to the airport around 8. Still going to be a long day night.

If your luggage is checked in all the way to Fiji, you should only have your carry-on bags with you in Brisbane, depending on their size, you might not need lockers at all.

We have the same issues for Adelaide as Qantas dont have many, maybe any? International flights into Adelaide anymore. We always have to transit in Sydney or Melbourne. I look on at it as part of the fun of travel and if that is all that goes 'wrong' then it has been a great trip.

the Club is an option but with your requirements, I am pretty sure with the money you spend for an access to the club for 3 more adults, you can book a room at the Novotel for the few hours for all your needs.

We are arriving in Bris via Tilt Train so we will have all our baggage with us. I have been told that you can only check luggage in 3 hours before departure is this true??

Novotel dont have anything suitable for all of us:( and then theres still the issue of transport to an from

I used the lockers at Roma Street station once about 2 years ago. They are computerised and coin operated. They were fairly big, I was able to fit two fairly large suitcases in one locker.

How are you getting to Brisbane? If by air then it would be better to get them checked through all the way if possible. Otherwise there are lockers at the international terminal that you could drop them at. If you are coming in by some other method then Roma St lockers are a good option.

We are coming by train to Brisbane from Bundy. I was told that the international didnt have lockers anymore?
Also where are the. Showers at airport ?
I have never actually flown out of Bris international and its been many years since any international travel. Can anyone give me run down on whats beyond check in etc. can we arrive earlier than the 3 hours is there much to do etc?

Showers are generally only at lounges, if you can't get lounge access there wont be any showers to use. If you've been told you can't check in 3hrs before your flight, that its probably true as 3hrs is pretty standard.

Beyond checkin are the immigration desks and secruity points where they'll check your carry-on bags for liquids, gels etc. From memory BRS then has some duty free shops and food court (at the usual airport pricing $$). If you've got 3 kids that will need to be kept occupied, Probably better to arrive at the aiport 2hrs before flight time (in my opinion), but then again, I'm also the type of person that likes to arrive earlier than later and check in ASAP.

You should check out this site: Brisbane Airport - What To Do While In Transit

You can get the free courtesy bus to the shopping centre nearby (although at the time your're departing it may not be available)

And what do you know! from: http://bne.com.au/terminal-guide/facilities-services-general-information#Shower Facilities

"Shower Facilities

At the International Terminal, showers are available on Levels 2, 3 and 4, and Levels 1 and 2 of the Domestic Terminals. The shower facilities are free of charge"

Thanks for that.
One of the other members mentioned public showers?
As we were thinking of just getting the Airtrain from Roma Street to airport we are restricted to how late we can arrive. Im concerned with kids being tired n cranky and then hyper especially since they are normally in bed by 8pm. So is there anything kiddie friendly?? If we are lucky and get a power point girls can sit and watch a movie, play ipads etc.
heres hoping they are angels and fast alseep. Then again the thought of carrying 3 sleepy kids isnt very appealing either.

What day are you expecting to arrive, I would suggest booking a room at the Holiday Inn for the night of arrival which is above Roma st, use the room as a lounge where everyone can have a shower (I am sure the hotel will be happy to provide a few extra towels or else grab them from the SPA on the top floor - BTW there are more showers up there). Repack bags then head to the airport by train if its open or taxi. You could also use the time to charge the devices, have a drink etc.

Using the IHG friends and family rate the room will cost $182 if its the first Saturday night of the school holidays, split across the travellers thats not to much for a refreshing shower/repack etc

Heading out to the airport any earlier would be a waste of time IMHO, even 3 hours before could make it a long night.

The showers are in the toilets. There are some at the check in area that you could use before checking in and some air side that you can use once you have gone through security. I don't think there are any towels or soap, so you'll have to bring your own.

So I take it you are flying on a Qantas codeshare on Air Pacific. In that case you'll have to check in with Air Pacific. Check in won't open before 3 hours to departure.

From what I understand there still are lockers in the international terminal. I have never used them and only seen them from a distance. But I think they are still there.

Why are you arriving into Brisbane so early? Is there only one train a day? Will you really need a shower that evening if you have had one that morning?

I would suggest heading to a cinema and everyone plonking down for a mindless kids movie - that will kill several hours.

Sunlander Tilt Train leaves Bundaberg at 9:10 am and arrives at Roma St 3:55pm. Good question. Given the OP is leaving BNE at 23:50, thats a 6am arrival in NZ. Considering thats a hideous red-eye flight, I think you'll all be wanting to rest and freshen up as soon as you arrive anyhow.

They are going to NAN, not NZ, still applicable re the hideous red eye flight, could be worse, EK at 3AM

Yeah sorry my bad, I was thinking 3hrs, just another direction.
At least with a 3am start you can *pretend* to get a few hours of sleep beforehand. But 11pm is not worth going to sleep before...

Hotel room in Brisbane, or two if necessary sounds the go to me. Getting 8 passes to Qantas Club could be nigh impossible, and a hotel room will give you somewhere to put the bags, shower, and occupy the children.

Yes i know crazy stupid red eye flight. And yes 2 trains a day from bundy the other one arrives earlier Lol. When we booked flights we had planned on driving down in im still thinking it would be easier but oh well. I was thinking of cinemas to, and if we put luggage in lockers im sure we can find some thing to waste the time.
Has any one flown with a pram fold flat and compact will they allow me to keep it til we board i know ob domestic flights they have allowed us to.

In regards to the airport train, with that many people it will highly likely be cheaper to get a maxi taxi, or even 2 regular taxis.
