Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Are you sure that the itinerary hasn’t just updated and maxed out at 318K? If a new booking, and cancelling the old one, then re-credit is not necessarily immediate. Maybe I’m not reading your post correctly.
I think you are correct. She said , and I tried arguing, that the new sectors were 318k. I tried the exact same flights in a multi and only got to 186600 points each. I am 100% positive she is reading the thing incorrectly. I will try again soon. If only Qantas would pull their finger out and allow adding to an itinerary using the website. Probably save staff in the long run.

Qantas will do everything in their power to keep the OWA difficult to book.

They'd rather QFFs spend the points on toasters or Points Plus Pay/Classic Plus

Ok I have finally got it all sorted and am awaiting ticketing. What I have learnt. Always ring back till you get what you want. Most of the agents are useless and those that seem ok don't really know what they are doing. Some get confused with the different flight types and really get you stressed. Make sure when you do tell them repeatedly that you tried to do it on the website and that function isn't available. They shouldn't charge a service fee. Leave questions on here as people are very helpful, unlike most Qantas agents. Lastly, if you get a guy called Mike from the Philippines, you are lucky as he really knows his stuff and is very helpful.. Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips. I just hope I can help someone else out one day.. Now to sweat on the re-ticketing lol.

Good luck - it's always a nightmare waiting for the reticketing

Glad you got it sorted. Don't just leave the reticketing to the vagaries of the QF computer. Some airlines like CX & MH have 24 hr deadline for reticketing where if not reticketed they delete the flight from your booking. If not reticketed after 24hrs keep calling and calling this may take 10-15 calls to get sorted. Don't accept it will ticket within 24 hrs, they all say that, except the ones that say 72 hrs. They can actually see the ticketing deadline to the minute but they will deny it. The problem is they have to wait for an hour or more to get through to ticketing and they don't want to do that.
PS service fee doesn't apply to J bookings anyway.

The agent told me to call if it wasn't re-ticketed by midnight to call back so I recon 1000 to 1030 will be call back time. Lost CX flights repeatedly last time in 2019 and from memory the agent from SA wouldn't let me go till I had the ticket in my email. Something like a 3 hr call lol. Some agents are good. Others need to find a new job.

Last time I booked this, way back in 2019,it was stressful but easier. I have now found someone that can add flights past our booking date. Next problem is when she tried to add the flights, they wouldn't add because we had 2 transits and 1 stopover in Helsinki. Seems it is 2 trips to a city only regards if stopover or transit and that was the machine not the agent. Found different flights to avoid Helsinki and called back. Now the bloody booking machine booked the flights but wanted 318k for the new added flights and wouldn't credit the 280k points already spent on the first half of the trip. I have been told to cancel the trip and rebook from the start using the website regardless of me telling them it isn't possible because the website won't allow more than 6 flights. Any ideas?
I am going through this same problem at the moment. Do you know if you can do 3 transits without any stopovers?

I've just attempted to make a RTW Classic Business. I got to the very end and entered credit card details had 2 attempts and the booking disappeared. I forgot to increase the monthly limit so transaction was declined. I fixed the card limit but when I went to book again the first leg seats have disappeared presumably locked up in my failed booking. Will the seats reappear? Are they gone forever? Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Awaiting your expert advice in great anticipation.

Maybe. No-one on AFF can tell if/when seats re-appear. I would keep checking.

It may be “the quick and the dead” unfortunately.

Check your QFF bookings page - a PNR should have been created if you made it to the payment page, and the seats will be held for a short time.

Even if it's not showing in your bookings, try calling and asking if the agent can find it. I'd probably even call a few times in case you get connected to someone who doesn't understand what you're asking for.

If they can find it you'll need to make payment over the phone.

I would not have found the PNR without your suggestion. I have called and paid, 6 minutes later points disappeared and booking there. So thank you very much.

I understand Fiji Airways will become a full OW member in 2025. Does anyone know when we will be able to add Fiji Airways flights as part of a OWA ticket? Do we have to wait until the full membership starts even if the booking date will be in 2025 when the full membership has commenced? I did some test bookings but the points didn't max out at 318,000 so I'm assuming we have to wait?
