I am a little confused by the last sentence
Having now done a cruise, I am even more confounded by the "only unpack" once mantra that many voice. When travelling I can pack and be ready to go in 5 minutes so I never factor packing/unpacking into holiday planning. This cruise experience has reinforced that a few transfers with easily managed luggage is a very small price to pay to be able to travel how we prefer. Obviously others think otherwise

On my couple of ocean cruises, my mantra is "Can unpack." No such thing when I'm flying - its just in and out of the suitcase as required and after a week I realise I have warn and basin washed several items at the top, while discovering a couple of similar ones lurking at the bottom of the suitcase  It was nice to completely unpack on the cruises and actually use drawers (unheard of in airline itinerary) etc.

My next 2 trips are fly/drive/rail then the next one fly/rail/fly/cruise.
