My problem is with anyone who could agree with those quotes.

And I think people who have a problem with those quotes are not worth voting for.
Really-Noel Pearson is wrong?
If Britain had not invaded it is likely the French would have done so.so to protest on the lawns of Parliament people would have to travel to Paris.Of course easier now with the QF/EK tie up.
And the quote about Julia Gillard is taken out of context-no surprise. He was talking to the Coalition party room and addressing those who thought the PM would just give up and call an election. So in effect he was calling her a tough opponent. So that is sexist or the words of a misogynist.

Sorry that list is the excreta of male cattle.

Is this really the forum for political debate ? The answer is no so Mods, can we get it off please ?

I haven't actually read the quotes, so happy to accept what you say. But you have to admit the man does have a touch of Latham's foot in mouth disease.

I am wondering how you have discussion about an election without any politics.

There is a new conspiracy theory out there. If Peter Slipper or Craig Thomson were found guilty plus a rumour that Robert McClelland wants to retire early meant there could be 3 potential by elections which in theory could have seen TA as PM.However if an election date has been announced the Speaker has the Prerogative to postpone the by elections until the election date. The timing of the announcement of the election date and Craig thomson's arrest are the basis of the theory.

Of course only 1 problem with this-justice moves slowly and I really cant see the legal cases being finished before the election.

They're dropping like flies - Senator Chris Evans & leader of the senate has just resigned!

Mass exodus? Happened before - similar to what we saw in NSW & QLD?

Add Nicola Roxon to the list.....

It certainly looks like QLD of about 18 months ago.Seems like a few in the ALP are conceeding defeat is inevitable.

And the rumours re Robert McClelland were right-he has applied for a position with the NSW IRC and if appointed would have to take up the post before June.

One could presume those who are jumping now (vs those being pushed. ) i.e. those in the senate could be making way for new blood which might be a distraction from the main event. With the succession of ex NSW labour Premiers (Carr & Iemma ) being shoehorned into the senate to bring " experience" to the fore. Lets hope they bring the ever popular Keneally and Bligh in as well.

Looks like the currency markets are factoring in a Coalition victory. AUD has slipped about 2% since the election date was announced.

A Coalition victory has been the likely outcome for the past two and a half years. Nothing's changed there.

With polls like this Julia's job looks impossible.bass is one of the bellweather seats-
Poll tips Libs in a Bass landslide | The Examiner

Need to know what is happening in Eden-Monaro! :)

The Australian today said that the Libs have sought legal advice which indicates that now an election date has been set, even though the writs aren't called, that the TV has to give equal time play to both Labor and Coalition.
